NFL: Chiefs expected to win the most games in 2020
The Kansas City Chiefs, fresh off their first Super Bowl victory in 50 years, have been assigned a regular-season win total of 11.5, the highest mark of any NFL team, by oddsmakers for 2020.
Let's dive into some of the roster moves they’ve made, as we weigh whether the Chiefs can replicate or improve on their 12-4 performance from a year ago.
Kansas City has had a quiet offseason
The Chiefs haven't made a big splash in free agency, but they don't have many needs, considering the talent already on the roster. Their biggest addition to this point is journeyman offensive lineman Mike Remmers, who was brought in for depth.
The Chiefs applied the franchise tag to stalwart defensive lineman Chris Jones, so he’ll be part of the organization for at least one more season. The only other free agent K.C. has inked in 2020 is cornerback Antonio Hamilton, who is considered more of a special-teams player.
First Free Agent pick up for the Chiefs was CB and special teams ace Antonio Hamilton. Here he is the left gunner on special teams. Great release off the snap. Has good downfield speed and nose for the ball. Excellent open-field tackle. @ArrowheadLive pic.twitter.com/IWmfj0crxb

The Chiefs' defense could use some help
If the Chiefs are weak at one position, it is probably cornerback, where Charvarius Ward is currently at the top of the depth chart. Kendall Fuller departed for the Redskins, while Bashaud Breeland is still testing the open market.
There are plenty of talented corners coming up in this year’s NFL Draft, including Damon Arnette and Noah Igbinoghene, who could be available at 32nd overall.
Playing corner in the NFL is hard. People were mad at Charvarius Ward for this, but there's nothing else he could do outside of pulling out a stick and hitting the WR with it. Stayed in the hip pocket, got his head turned, contested. Can't defend a perfect throw . pic.twitter.com/DGItGZmX7m

Kansas City’s defense may pale in comparison to the 1985 Bears, but its offense is one of the elite units in football. Patrick Mahomes, the 2018 MVP, is arguably the best quarterback in the league. Even though he missed 2 1/2-games last season, Mahomes still managed to accumulate more than 4,000 passing yards and 26 touchdowns, with just five interceptions. His main weapons, wide receiver Tyreek Hill and tight end Travis Kelce, are still in the fold, ready to propel the Chiefs to another double-digit win total.
The AFC West should be all Chiefs
The AFC West appears to be one of the weaker divisions in the NFL going, which should work to K.C.’s benefit.
The Chargers seem to be in the midst of a rebuild, with both quarterback Philip Rivers and running back Melvin Gordon gone.
The Raiders were outbid on most of the premier free agents they wanted, and the Broncos could be a borderline playoff team in 2020, if Drew Lock lives up to the hype. But that’s a big "if."
