NFL 2023: Teaser Play Week 13
Thirteen games are scheduled for Week 13 for NFL, which takes over the first week in December, and there will be some serious playoff shuffling over the next six weekends. YouBet's James Scully has been on a hot streak, hitting consecutive teaser plays and three of the last four, and will look to keep things rolling!
Teasers adjust point spreads in the bettor’s favor, providing an opportunity to play multiple games in a single bet without being locked into the existing odds in a standard parlay.
We’ll play the six-point teaser option at +260 ($100 win returns $360 including investment).

Detroit | +2 |
Denver-Houston | Under 53.5 |
Tampa Bay | +5 |
L.A. Rams | Sample Data |
Detroit Lions +2
Detroit bounced back with resounding double-digit wins after its first two losses this season, and ball security will be a focus following a sloppy home loss to Green Bay. The Lions are 30-15 ATS since 2021, the best record in the league, and New Orleans owns an 18-26-1 mark over the same span, the 30th worst. The Saints will be glad to be back home after losing two straight on the road, they can still get after it defensively and played Jacksonville tough at home last month. The Lions have played to the level of their competition at times, and we’ll avoid laying a tricky number by using the Lions in a teaser.
Denver-Houston Under 53.5
Since surrendering 70 points to Miami in Week 3, Denver has performed at a much higher level defensively, allowing only 16.5 points per game over the last six contests. That span includes a pair of Kansas City games and a road win over Buffalo, and the improved play has carried over to Russell Wilson, who has guided Denver to five consecutive wins. The Broncos mix the pass and run effectively, gashing Cleveland’s highly ranked defense for 169 rushing yards last week, and Houston ranks 22nd in total defense despite playing a soft schedule. Houston hasn’t looked like the same team since upsetting Cincinnati in Week 10, shut out by Arizona in the second half two weeks ago and surrendering a halftime lead to Jacksonville last week, and we expect a low-scoring affair. The Under is 9-4 ATS in Denver’s last 13 games as an underdog and 9-5 ATS in the last 14 Houston home games.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +5
Don’t say billionaires don’t know their limitations. Carolina owner David Tepper, who reportedly pushed for the Panthers to draft Bryce Young over C.J. Stroud, has had his finger on the pulse of every misstep made by the organization since he bought the team in 2018. The Panthers are clearly the worst-run organization presently and after firing a third head coach this week, Tepper held a rambling press conference where he continued to make an embarrassing spectacle of himself. Morale must be low in Carolina, it’s the worst head-coaching job in the league, and the players know it. The Panthers are a dysfunctional mess, failing to exceed 15 points in their last five games and are 9-19-2 ATS off a loss over the last two seasons. Tampa Bay will be happy to be back home after playing the last two weeks, and four of the last five, on the road, and the Bucs will get some momentum back on their side with a victory.
Los Angeles Rams +2.5
Buy time with the Rams, who have gone on the upswing since getting healthier in recent weeks. After being sidelined six games, Kyren Williams provided an enormous boost when returning last week, accumulating 143 rushing and 61 receiving yards, and his presence makes L.A.’s offense hum. The offensive line has outperformed all expectations with its outstanding play, ranking sixth-best in terms of sacks allowed (22). L.A. has recorded 11 rushing touchdowns (ninth-best) and is averaging 4.3 yards per carry (12th-best) despite having a makeshift backfield earlier in the season, and the Rams are poised to slow down a Cleveland team that relies on defense. The Browns are banged up at quarterback, with backup starter Dorian Thompson-Robinson in concussion protocol this week, and Myles Garrett left last week’s game with his arm in a sling. We’re keen on the Rams’ chances!
