Jets vs. Colts: The best player prop bets for TNF
Backup quarterback Mike White will aim for a repeat of last week’s awe-inspiring performance, as he and the 2-5 New York Jets visit the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday Night Football in Week 9.
The former fifth-round pick earned his first career start in Week 8’s upset win over the 5-3 Cincinnati Bengals, just one week removed from White recording a pass for the first time in an NFL game.
In the 34-31 comeback victory, White went 37-of-45 for 405 yards, threw three touchdown passes, and made a two-point conversion catch with 3:45 left to play.
The Jets' defense also made strides, as Shaq Lawson grabbed the team’s first interception of the season, which set up New York’s go-ahead touchdown in the final four minutes.

Indianapolis had the opposite luck in Week 8. In the second meeting of the season with the Tennessee Titans, the Colts squandered a 14-0 lead and fell 34-31 in overtime.
Carson Wentz struggled down the stretch and had an interception returned for a touchdown with under two minutes to play, then chucked up another interception in overtime.
He and the Colts will attempt to get back in the win column with a home game against a hungry Jets squad.
Let’s examine this Week 9 Thursday Night Football matchup, as we look at the three best player props to bet.
Mike White: Over/Under 258.5 passing yards
In just two career games, White has combined for 607 yards on 74% passing, four touchdowns, and four interceptions.
Against Cincinnati's bottom-10 pass defense, he completed a whopping 82.2% of his passes and averaged nine yards per pass attempt on the way to setting a record for most completions in a player's first NFL start. White also joined Cam Newton as the only players since 1950 to pass for more than 400 yards in their first start.

Thursday's matchup against Indianapolis should be a rude awakening. The Colts allow 243.6 passing yards per game (15th most) and are tied for first in takeaways (18) in the league.
Indy has surrendered more than 259 yards in three of eight games this season — against the Los Angeles Rams' fourth-ranked passing offense and during a pair of overtime losses to the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans.
New York's offense is far from the same caliber as the three offenses above, and will fail to find the same success through the air.
Pick: Under 258.5 passing yards (-115)
Jonathan Taylor: Over/Under 82.5 rushing and receiving yards
After a rough start to the season, the Colts have begun to find their rhythm on offense, behind the work of running back Jonathan Taylor.
The second-year stud is a multifaceted talent, who has totaled more than 100 yards from scrimmage in each contest since Week 4 against the Miami Dolphins.
Most yards from scrimmage this season:
— NFL Stats (@NFL_Stats) October 27, 2021
Derrick Henry - 1,023
Cooper Kupp - 804
Jonathan Taylor - 792
Ja’Marr Chase - 752
Davante Adams - 744
Tyreek Hill - 704
Deebo Samuel - 670
Alvin Kamara - 660
D’Andre Swift - 653
Leonard Fournette - 635
Only twice this season has Taylor recorded fewer than 83 yards from scrimmage, in Weeks 2 and 3 against the Rams and Titans, respectively.
The Jets defense stuffed Bengals back Joe Mixon for 33 rushing yards, but gave up 58 receiving yards to the veteran in Week 8.
The week prior, New York let New England Patriots back Damien Harris rush for more than 100 yards and surrendered 54 rushing and 60 receiving yards to dynamic playmaker Cordarrelle Patterson in a loss to the Falcons in Week 5.
Taylor shouldn't have an issue topping the 100-yard mark against a New York stop unit that ranks in the bottom half of the league in rushing defense and 27th against the pass.
Pick: Taylor Over 82.5 rushing and receiving yards (-113)
Taylor: Player to score at least two touchdowns
Not only will Taylor go for his sixth straight game with more than 100 yards from scrimmage, but he will get the perfect opportunity to celebrate a multiple-touchdown outing against this Jets defense.
New York ranks second-to-last in opponent rushing touchdowns per game (1.7), behind only the Houston Texans (1.8), who allowed Taylor to run into the end zone twice in Week 6.
In the Jets' win over Cincinnati, Mixon ran for one touchdown and caught another, while Harris ran for two scores in New England's victory over its AFC East rival.
Taylor has scored at least once per game since Week 4 and has enjoyed a multiple-touchdown outing one other time this season, against Baltimore's bottom-ranked rushing defense.
The Jets will struggle to contain the former Wisconsin product and will give Taylor ample opportunity to rack up points.
Pick: Taylor to score at least two touchdowns (+295)
