Intriguing Week 1 matchups in the NFL
The NFL regular season will be here before we know it. Here are some Week 1 matchups to look forward to.
Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears (-4), Sept. 5
Green Bay has a new head coach in Matt LaFleur, and if quarterback Aaron Rodgers excels in LaFleur's system, the Packers could get back to the top of the NFC.Chicago will try to solidify its position as the best team in the NFC North after last year's 12-win season.
Kansas City Chiefs (-3.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars, Sept. 8
The Jaguars have a new quarterback in Nick Foles, who makes them a playoff contender. It will be interesting to see how much Kansas City has changed since last season. The Chiefs' defense is very different and NFL opponents have had plenty of time to get a good look at MVP Patrick Mahomes.
Indianapolis Colts at Los Angeles Chargers (-3), Sept. 8
The Colts are loaded on both sides of the football, but so are the Chargers.Indianapolis and Los Angeles both have a chance to establish themselves as championship contenders in this opening-week matchup. It should be an excellent quarterback duel, as well, between Andrew Luck and Philip Rivers.
Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots (-6), Sept. 8
Two of the top franchises in the AFC for more than a decade, both the Steelers and Patriots are looking for primary passing targets in Week 1. Pittsburgh will be without Antonio Brown, while the Patriots will be without Rob Gronkowski.Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has leaned on Brown since 2011, and Tom Brady has also leaned on Rob Gronkowski since 2011.
