Locks of the Week
Scott: Eagles vs. Patriots (Under 44.5) The Eagles and Patriots both come off their bye weeks and should be ready to fire their best shot. I expect the defenses to control things in this one. Look for New England to lean on the short and intermediate passing game, which will bleed the clock while the Eagles will continue to commit to their running game with their lack of speed and big play makers on the outside. Not sure either team reaches 20 in this one.Adam: Cowboys (-4.5) The Lions have mostly gotten by on the brilliance of QB Matthew Stafford - he was out last week and they managed 13 points. Regardless of whether or not Stafford plays, it shouldn't matter here. Detroit's defense ranks 26th or worse against the run and the pass and it faces a Dallas offense that ranks No. 1 in yards gained. The Lions will struggle to keep up at home.
Rohit: 49ers vs. Cardinals (Over 46.5) The Cardinals play at the fastest pace in the league and their defense allows a whopping 412.5 yards per game which is bad news against a Niners team that averages over 380 yards per game and is smarting after their first loss of the season. While San Fran has played terrific defense for most of the year, keep in mind that Cards rookie QB Kyler Murray had success against them in Week 9 as these two teams combined for 53 points.
Ben: Falcons (+5.5) I am going with the Falcons for my lock this week. They were so good last week against the Saints and I expect them to be able to have success against the Panthers. This game should be a close one and I want the Falcons getting 5.5 in a divisional game with a chance to do real damage to their divisional opponent's playoff chances.
