New York Giants vs. Washington Football Team: The best player prop bets for TNF
The New York Giants will clash with their NFC East rival, the Washington Football Team, on Thursday Night Football, at 8:20 p.m. ET, at FedEx Field.
Neither team got off to a promising start in Week 1.
The Giants dropped their home opener to the Denver Broncos, while Washington fell to the Los Angeles Chargers and lost new quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to a hip injury.
Backup quarterback Taylor Heinicke, who nearly led Washington to an upset win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in last season's Wild Card Round, will get the start against New York, whose defense ranked ninth in points surrendered last season (22.3).
The Giants' defense will attempt to bounce back in Week 2, after it allowed 27 points to Denver, and will get a more manageable matchup against Washington's hobbled offense.
Let's examine Week 2's Thursday Night Football contest further, as we look at the three best player props to bet.
Daniel Jones: Over/Under 19.5 rushing yards
In Week 1 against Denver, Daniel Jones turned in a characteristic, mixed-bag performance. He posted 267 passing yards, 27 rushing yards, two total touchdowns, and lost a crucial fumble in the red zone near the end of the third quarter.
Against Washington's fierce front seven, Jones is likely in for a rough day and should commit a few more mistakes, but you can expect the third-year quarterback to do a decent amount of damage, both in the passing game and on the ground.
In Week 6 of last season, Jones led New York in rushing, with 74 yards on seven carries, in a 20-19 win over Washington at home.
Another day, another elite Daniel Jones run!

49-yards, leaves Washington's defense in his dust - loving these read-option plays - hope to see more next year.

In their second matchup of the season, Jones only managed four yards on the ground, in a game where seven different Giants players combined for 35 rushing attempts.
Last week, Jones was once again his team's rushing leader, despite the return of running back Saquon Barkley, who produced just 26 yards on 10 carries.
In 2020, Jones accumulated 20 or more rushing yards in eight of the first 10 games of the season and averaged 26.4 rushing yards per contest for the year.
Look for similar output to his first meeting with Washington last season and hit the Over on 19.5 rushing yards.
Pick: Over 19.5 rushing yards
Logan Thomas: Over/Under 50.5 receiving yards
One player who could be the key to snap Washington's five-game losing streak to New York is tight end Logan Thomas.
The fifth-year veteran had a fairly quiet showing in Week 1 but caught all three of his targets, for 30 yards and a touchdown.
He should get a boost in production with Heinicke behind center.
In the two games the quarterback saw playing time in 2020, Thomas tallied 63 and 74 yards.

Even more promising for the receiver, New York struggled against the tight end position in Week 1.
Noah Fant tied for the team high in catches for Denver (six) and tallied the second most receiving yards (62), while second-year tight end Albert Okwuegbunam hauled in three catches for 16 yards and a score. Eric Saubert also put up seven yards on his lone reception.
With New York likely to focus the most attention on wideout Terry McLaurin, Thomas should find himself open and enjoy a big performance Thursday night.
Pick: Over 49.5 receiving yards
Antonio Gibson: Over/Under 2.5 receptions
In addition to McLaurin, the Giants will concentrate on stuffing running back Antonio Gibson, who emerged as Washington's lead back by the end of his rookie season in 2020.
In Week 1, Gibson ran for 90 yards, including a long of 27, on 20 carries. He also pulled down three of his five targets for 18 yards.
The Giants were mostly successful containing Denver's rushing attack. The Broncos piled up 165 yards on the ground, but a huge chunk of that came from a 70-yard touchdown run by Melvin Gordon late in the fourth quarter.

Gibson may have some issues racking up yards against New York, but he is also a capable receiver.
In 2020, he caught three or more passes in eight regular-season games. Gordon was able to catch all three of his targets for 17 yards against New York on Sunday.
Pick: Over 2.5 receptions
