Eagles vs. Jets: NFL preseason betting odds, preview, and pick
The undefeated New York Jets will look to finish off the preseason with a perfect record when they host the winless Philadelphia Eagles on Friday night.
Zach Wilson has impressed thus far
The No. 2 overall pick was destined to be the Day 1 starter from the moment he was drafted by New York. The Jets moved on from Sam Darnold after trading him to the Carolina Panthers and did not bother signing a veteran quarterback in the offseason to compete with/mentor Zach Wilson.
Wilson had a strong showing in the first two games. In the first game against the New York Giants, he played two series and went 6-for-9 for 63 yards. His two series resulted in three points for the Jets.
In the second preseason game against the Green Bay Packers, Wilson played four series that resulted in 17 points. He went 9-for-11 for 128 yards and two touchdowns. It will be interesting to observe if the Jets feel comfortable with what they've seen thus far from Wilson, or if they'll want him to get more game reps before his regular season debut.

Eagles offense yet to take flight
The Philadelphia Eagles have not scored in the last six quarters of the preseason. In the first preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, they scored 16 points in the first half, but were shut out in the second. They actually tallied -3 total yards in the second half of that game!
In the second preseason game against the New England Patriots, the Eagles were shut out and only managed to gain 163 total yards of offense. That is 160 total yards in six quarters of play.

One key factor is that starting quarterback Jalen Hurts has not played in any of these six quarters. I would expect the Eagles to want to right the ship and have their starters make some noise on offense to start this game.

Jets and Eagles Trends
- Philadelphia is 8-4 straight up in its last 12 games against the Jets
- The Eagles are 5-0 ATS in their last five meetings with the Jets
- The Eagles are 0-6 ATS in their last six road games
- The total has hit the Under in eight of Philadelphia's last 12 games
- The Jets are 1-7 straight-up in their last eight home games
- The total has hit the Under in each of the Jets' last seven games against Philadelphia
Don't expect a lot of points
The combination of the Eagles’ struggles on offense and the fact we may not see many of the Jets’ offensive starters leads to a clear choice on the Under. The trends also lean heavily towards the Under.
It's hard to imagine the Eagles will just settle with entering the regular season on a terrible streak of bad offense and turnovers by letting their backups play most of this game. I like the Eagles to come out and win as the underdog, as they will play a little harder for a little longer than the Jets.
Score prediction: Philadelphia 16, New York Jets 10
NFL Preseason pick: Eagles +4, Under 34
