Drew Brees' record against every NFL team
*This article has since been updated to reflect Drew Brees' record against each NFL team as of Oct. 4, 2024.
Across his 20-year career in the NFL, quarterback Drew Brees earned a win against every franchise in the league, including the team with which he spent 15 seasons.
Second in all-time passing yards, the Texas native began his career with the San Diego Chargers, from 2001 to 2005, then moved to the New Orleans Saints, where he won his only Super Bowl.
After the 2020 season, Brees officially hung up his cleats, finishing his career with a 172-114-0 overall record, the second-highest career completion percentage (67.7%), as well as the second-most passing attempts (10,551), completed passes (7,142), touchdown passes (571), and passing yards per game (280) in the NFL.
Let’s look back further at Brees' overall record (including the regular season and postseason) against every NFL franchise and break down a few fun facts related to some of the quarterback legend's most noteworthy matchups.

Drew Brees vs. the Atlanta Falcons
Brees lost his first meeting with Atlanta in 2004, when the Chargers fell, 21-20, to Michael Vick's Falcons. After he joined the Saints, Brees went 19-9 against Atlanta and 14-9 against quarterback Matt Ryan.
The Saints QB threw for more than 7,000 yards and 43 touchdowns in the series with the 2016 NFL MVP, and no other quarterback duo has faced each other more times (23) than Brees and Ryan.
Drew Brees vs. the Baltimore Ravens
It took Brees until Oct. 21, 2018, to earn his first victory against Baltimore in a 24-23 decision at M&T Bank Stadium. Before that game, Brees had recorded a win against every NFL franchise, except for the Ravens.
And Drew Brees finally gets the Ravens off his back. He joins Peyton Manning and Brett Favre as the only three QBs to beat all 32 teams in his fifth try against the Ravens.

Drew Brees vs. the Denver Broncos
For whatever reason, the Denver Broncos seemed to have Brees' number. As a Charger, Brees went 2-5 against the division rival. With the Saints, Brees was never able to top Denver (0-3).
Each of those three Saints losses against the Broncos came against a different quarterback — Jay Cutler (2008), Peyton Manning (2012), and Trevor Siemian (2016).
Drew Brees vs. the Green Bay Packers
Brees met prolific quarterback Brett Favre twice while Favre played with the Packers. In their first meeting, Brees lost, 38-21, with the Chargers. In their second matchup in 2006, Brees bested Favre, 34-27, in Brees' first season in New Orleans.
Aaron Rodgers and Brees went head to head five times. Rodgers owned a 3-2 lead in the series and had the final say with a 37-30 win over Brees in Week 3 of the 2020 season.
Drew Brees vs. the Indianapolis Colts
The most important win of Brees' career occurred against Indianapolis in 2010, when New Orleans defeated Manning and the Colts in Super Bowl XLIV.

Brees also earned Super Bowl MVP, after he completed 32 passes (then a Super Bowl record) for 288 yards and two scores.
Brees finished his career with a 4-2 mark against Indianapolis.
Drew Brees vs. the Los Angeles Chargers
The only two teams Brees is undefeated against are the two teams he played for.
In San Diego, Brees faced his future team, New Orleans, just once and annihilated the Saints, 43-17, in 2004.
From 2008-2020 with New Orleans, Brees scored victories all four times he faced the Chargers. Three of those came against his successor, Philip Rivers, while his most recent occurred against Justin Herbert in 2020.
Drew Brees vs. the Los Angeles Rams
One of Brees' most memorable games is one he would like to forget.
With less than two minutes left in the 2018 NFC Championship Game against L.A., the Saints — who were a hot pick to win the Super Bowl — were in position to milk the clock and kick a game-clinching field goal. They just needed to convert on third down from the Rams' 13-yard line.
Brees sent a near-perfect pass to receiver Tommylee Lewis, who was knocked over by cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman before Lewis had a chance to catch the ball. To most people watching, Robey-Coleman committed blatant pass interference, but the referees failed to make the call.

The Saints kicked a field goal on the next play, and too much time was left for the Rams to tie the score and win it in overtime.
In New Orleans' rematch the following season, the Saints quarterback broke his thumb in the first quarter and missed the next five games of the season.
Needless to say, the Rams brought Brees a lot of bad luck.
Drew Brees vs. the Minnesota Vikings
Brees went 5-2 against Minnesota in the regular season but suffered two of his nine career playoff losses to the Vikings. In 2019, the Saints fell to Minnesota, 26-20, in overtime of the NFC wild-card round, plus the Vikes knocked Brees out of the postseason at the end of the 2017 season, when Case Keenum led Minnesota to a win over New Orleans in the divisional round.
Overall, Brees is 1-2 against Minnesota in the postseason, with two of those games going to overtime.
Drew Brees vs. the New York Giants
Eight NFL quarterbacks share the record for most touchdown passes in a game (seven). Brees was the last to hit the seven-touchdown mark, when he beat the Giants, 52-49, in 2015. At the time, that game was only the fourth in NFL history to top 100 combined points.

Drew Brees vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay is the only team Brees has defeated 20 times.
In Week 9 of the 2020 NFL season, Brees torched new Bucs quarterback Tom Brady in a 38-3 win to bring his record against the Bucs to 20-10.
In the Divisional Round of the playoffs, Brady got payback. In Brees' final game of his career, the Saints quarterback fell to Tampa Bay, 30-20. Brees finished with a 5-3 mark all-time against Brady.
