Derek Carr's record against every NFL team
*This article has since been updated to reflect Derek Carr's record against every NFL team as of Jan. 15, 2022.
Entering the 2020 season, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr was rated a "tier 3" quarterback by Pro Football Focus analyst Steve Palazzo.
The former second-round pick out of Fresno State became a full-time starter as a rookie in 2014 and has since been the recipient of blame for the Raiders' consistent struggles.
Some NFL analysts contend Carr is a good quarterback on a bad team, while others knock his conservative style of play and question whether he should remain a starter in Las Vegas.
The three-time Pro Bowler and brother of former NFL quarterback David Carr has set numerous Raiders franchise records, including most completions, passing yards, and touchdown passes. However, in his seven-year tenure with the Raiders, he has posted just one winning season.
Let's break down Carr's career further by examining his regular-season record against every NFL team, along with some of his key performances.

Carr vs. the Cincinnati Bengals
In a Week 15 loss to Cincinnati during the 2018 season, Carr set a new Raiders franchise record for most consecutive passes (301) without an interception.
The Raiders are 3-11 and that's obviously paramount, but Derek Carr has gone nine straight games without an interception. Owns NFL's longest active streak with no INTs at 299 passes.

His streak continued against the Denver Broncos in Week 16, as Carr went 10 straight games without a pick.
In the 2018 season finale, his run ended at 332 passes, after he posted a two-interception outing against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Carr vs. the Indianapolis Colts
Carr has guided his team to a postseason berth once , but he has yet to take a snap in the playoffs.
That's because Carr suffered an injury against the Indianapolis Colts on Christmas Eve during the 2016 season. In the Raiders' 33–25 win over Indianapolis, Carr left the fourth quarter with a fibula fracture, which he suffered during a sack by linebacker Trent Cole.
Carr missed the following game, in Week 17, and was out for the Raiders' Wild Card matchup against the Houston Texans. Third-string quarterback Connor Cook got the start in the 27–14 loss.
Carr vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars
In Week 15 of the 2019 season, during the Raiders' final home game in Oakland, Carr threw for 267 yards and one touchdown in a 20–16 defeat to the Jaguars.
Despite the loss, Carr surpassed 300 completed passes for the season, which made him the second quarterback, behind Peyton Manning, to complete at least 300 passes in each of his first six seasons.
Carr vs. the Kansas City Chiefs
Carr earned his first win in a Week 12 matchup with Kansas City during the 2014 season. In a narrow 24-20 victory on Thursday Night Football, the rookie led his team on an 80-yard scoring drive, capped off by a game-winning touchdown with less than two minutes to play. Prior to the victory, the Raiders were 0-10 on the season.

In a 2019 contest against Kansas City, Carr became the all-time leading passer in Raiders franchise history.
The following season, Carr helped his team defeat the defending Super Bowl champions in a surprise, 40–32 road win in Week 5. Carr passed for 347 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception to earn his first victory at Arrowhead Stadium. The win also marked the first for Carr against Patrick Mahomes.
Carr vs. the Los Angeles Chargers
In Carr's fifth start of his career, against the AFC West rival Chargers, the quarterback set a franchise record for most passing touchdowns in a regular-season game by a rookie (four).
In 2016, Carr defeated the Chargers in Week 15, which clinched the Raiders' first playoff berth since 2002. The franchise also achieved its first winning season since 2002.
At the end of 2016, Carr was named to his second consecutive Pro Bowl.
Carr's most meaningful win over the Chargers came on Jan. 9, 2022, when he led the Raiders to a massive 35-32 overtime victory at home which propelled Las Vegas into the playoffs. Carr threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns in the pivotal, pulse-pounding win.

Head coach Dennis Allen announced Carr would start over Matt Schaub, which made Carr the first rookie quarterback in franchise history to start a season opener. Carr was also the only rookie quarterback from the 2014 draft class to start in Week 1. Blake Bortles, Johnny Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater, and Jimmy Garoppolo were among the quarterbacks in Carr's draft class.
In Carr's NFL debut, he tallied 151 passing yards and two touchdowns in a 19–14 loss.
He started all 16 games in 2014. No Raiders quarterback had done so since Rich Gannon in 2002.
Carr vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Carr received his first AFC Offensive Player of the Week honor after a Week 8 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2016. Carr finished with 513 passing yards, a franchise record, and four touchdowns in the 30–24 overtime victory.
Carr is one of 25 QBs in NFL history to throw for more than 500 yards in a game.
