Christian McCaffrey favored to lead NFL in rushing yards

BetAmerica handicaps the chances of the three favorites to earn the most rushing yards in the NFL this season, plus a dark-horse candidate.

Christian McCaffrey (+160)
Christian McCaffrey trails Dalvin Cook by just two yards (991 to 989) through Week 10 of the NFL season, but Cook has yet to have a bye week. Only stingy Tampa Bay (first in the NFL in rush defense) has been able to keep “Run CMC” in check in 2019. McCaffrey has rushed for no fewer than 93 yards in his seven games against other teams this year, and he’ll face just one top-10 rush defense (New Orleans, twice) in his final seven contests.McCaffrey certainly has the inside track to the rushing title, but there could be some underdogs worth a wager.
Dalvin Cook (+300)
Cook rushed for over 100 yards in three straight games at the beginning of the year but has reached that plateau just twice in seven subsequent contests, despite nearly 21 attempts per game in that span. The Vikings’ workhorse will face just one top-10 rush defense (Chicago) in his final six games of the year, but Cook is not trending in the right direction.Nick Chubb (+350)

The Browns will play the Bengals, owners of the NFL’s worst run defense, twice before the season ends. They'll also face Miami, 30th in rush defense, in Week 13. Chubb is averaging 114.3 yards per game over his last six efforts. He is a better bet than Cook to upset McCaffrey for most rushing yards.
Dark horse: Josh Jacobs (+1000)
Rookie of the Year candidate Josh Jacobs sits seventh in rushing yards at 811, with a solid 4.8 yards per attempt figure. He has broken the 100-yard plateau three times in his last five games and has some easy matchups, with the Bengals, Chiefs (31st in rush defense), Jaguars (22nd), Chargers (19th) and Broncos (17th) ahead.
