Chiefs vs. Eagles: NFL Week 4 betting odds, preview, and pick
The Philadelphia Eagles will host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday with both teams coming off back-to-back losses.
Let's examine this interconference matchup, beginning with the latest betting odds.
Is the blueprint out on the Chiefs?
Sunday will mark the first time since 2015 that the Chiefs will play a regular season football game with a losing record, and one of the key reasons has been sloppy play. Patrick Mahomes only had 11 total interceptions in his previous 30 regular season football games. He now has three interceptions in his past two.
The Los Angeles Chargers forced Mahomes out of his comfort zone, prompting him to get rid of the ball quick. In his career, Mahomes averages 8.39 yards per attempt. On Sunday, he only averaged 5.91 yards per attempt, and was also sacked twice.

The defense has also struggled mightily to get going this year. The Chiefs have allowed 29, 36, and 30 points in their three games thus far in 2021, and are currently ranked 31st in the league in points allowed, and 30th in yards allowed.
Where is the Philly offense?
After a stellar Week 1 performance against the Atlanta Falcons, the Eagles' offense has absolutely plummeted down to Earth. Philly only managed 11 points in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers, and 14 points on Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys, with seven of those 14 coming in a garbage time situation.
One major concern for Philly fans is the lack of a running game. Even though the Eagles rank fifth in the NFL in total rushing yards, there was an extreme lack of running on Monday night. Miles Sanders and Kenneth Gainwell combined for just three carries! Jalen Hurts got the other nine attempts.

The defense has performed well for the Eagles this season, but they cannot keep putting them in bad spots with lack of ball control and scoring on offense. Philadelphia needs to get back to the balanced attack they showed in Week 1 if they have any chance of pulling off the upset over the Chiefs.

Chiefs and Eagles Betting Trends
- The Chiefs are 0-5 ATS vs. a team with a losing record
- The Chiefs are 2-12 ATS in their last 14 games overall
- The Eagles are 5-1 ATS in their last six games as a home underdog
- The Under is 4-0 in the Chiefs' last four games following a straight-up loss
- The Under is 5-1 in the Eagles' last six games vs. a team with a losing record
Bad timing for the Eagles
I cannot imagine there is a worse time for any team to have to play Mahomes and the Chiefs than right now. Coming off narrow back-to-back losses against playoff contenders, they are ready to get back on track with a dominant win.
The Eagles are reeling on offense, and even though the Chiefs' defense has been struggling, they will need to put up massive numbers on Sunday to have any chance. Kansas City is ice cold in covering spreads, but they will get back on track this week. I like the Chiefs to put up a big number here and prove that they are still the team to beat in the AFC.
Score prediction: Chiefs 38, Eagles 20
NFL Week 4 picks: Chiefs -7, Over 54.5
