Chiefs vs. Buccaneers: The best receiving props for Super Bowl LV

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers boast the two best passing offenses in the NFL, so bettors should not be surprised if both Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady produce gaudy numbers in Super Bowl LV. But who will their top targets be?

Let’s start looking at the best receiving props for the big game.

Cameron Brate receiving yards

Rob Gronkowski gets most of the attention at tight end for Tampa Bay, but Cameron Brate should not be overlooked with a modest receiving-yard line to cross.

Brate averaged just 2.6 targets per game in the regular season (13 starts), but Brady has been calling his number early and often in the postseason. The Harvard product has 11 receptions on 16 targets for 149 yards (49.7 yards per game) in three playoff games this year.

The Chiefs’ defense was not an elite unit when it came to limiting tight end production in 2020, allowing the fifth-most yards to the position in football. Expect the Bucs to take advantage of that with Brate.

Mike Evans receptions

Bucs wide-out Mike Evans might be playing hurt this postseason, as his production is down a bit through three games. But with two weeks to recuperate between the NFC Championship Game and the Super Bowl, Evans should not be underestimated.

Evans averaged 4.4 receptions per game in the regular season en route to his seventh straight 1,000-yard campaign. He mustered just three catches on nine targets against the Chiefs in Week 12, but two of them were for touchdowns.

Expect Evans to get plenty of targets in Super Bowl LV and find his way to five or more receptions.

Player to have Most Receiving Yards

Kansas City wide-out Tyreek Hill had one of the most impressive efforts of the NFL season when he went for 269 yards on 13 receptions against Tampa Bay in Week 12.

It will be difficult to replicate that performance in the Super Bowl, but even 50% of that might be good enough to lead all receivers in yardage on Feb. 7. Hill eclipsed 100 receiving yards on two other occasions before the postseason. Through two playoff games, “Cheetah” has 282 yards on 17 catches.
