Chiefs vs. Buccaneers: The best defensive props for Super Bowl LV

Most fans and bettors will be paying attention to quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady when the Kansas City Chiefs face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium in Super Bowl LV (6:30 p.m. ET, CBS), but the defenses will be out there doing their jobs too.

There’s a slew of tackling and sack lines available for most of the defensive stars on both sides, but we’ve narrowed things down to our top four – two from the Chiefs, and two from the Bucs.

Daniel Sorenson tackles

Chiefs safety Daniel Sorenson seems to be getting disrespected by the oddsmakers with his tackling line for Super Bowl LV.

Sorenson averaged 6.1 tackles per game in 15 regular season starts, including his seven-tackle performance against the Bucs in Week 12. He registered exactly six tackles in both the Divisional Round game with the Cleveland Browns, and the AFC Championship game against the Buffalo Bills.

In a game that should prove to be pass-heavy, expect Sorenson to be involved early and often.

Frank Clark sacks

Disruptive defensive end Frank Clark needs to record just one sack for Kansas City in order for Over bettors to cash here.

Clark tallied two sacks in his last three regular season games before being shut out by the Browns in the Divisional Round. But he came alive in the AFC Championship Game, bringing quarterback Josh Allen down twice.

Expect Clark to get to the immobile Brady in Super Bowl LV.

Lavonte David tackles

The tackling line for Bucs linebacker Lavonte David in Super Bowl LV seems a bit too high, so Under bettors should take advantage.

David has averaged just 6.3 tackles per game over his last six outings. That includes a modest four tackle output against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game.

With the Chiefs likely to forsake the run for most of Super Bowl LV, the ability for David to make an impact could be severely limited.

Sean Murphy-Bunting tackles

It seems that opposing teams have been targeting Tampa Bay cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting so far this postseason. That has proven to be a big mistake, as the second-year man out of Central Michigan has tallied an interception in each of his first three playoff games this season.

Mahomes would be wise to throw to the side of the field that Murphy-Bunting is not patrolling in Super Bowl LV. If he does, that could result in Murphy-Bunting going below his tackle line.

He averaged just 4.4 tackles in the regular season.
