Twelve Ravens players were named to the AFC Pro Bowl squad, which tied the record for most selections from one team, with the 1973 Miami Dolphins.
The New Orleans Saints are second on the list, with seven selections, including quarterback Drew Brees, running back Alvin Kamara, and receiver Michael Thomas.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and five of his teammates earned Pro Bowl honors, but they’ll sit out the competition as they prepare for the Super Bowl on Feb. 2 in Miami.

Since 2016 the traditional AFC vs. NFC arrangement has been reinstated. The AFC is currently 24-22 in the series and has won the past three games.

Past Pro Bowl performances
The first official Pro Bowl occurred on Jan. 14, 1951 and pitted the best players from both NFL conferences against each other. From 2014-2016 the league experimented with a new format that mixed the two conferences, with Pro Bowl participants placed in a draft pool and selected by honorary captains.Since 2016 the traditional AFC vs. NFC arrangement has been reinstated. The conference edged out the NFC by just one point (24-23) in 2017, but the AFC dominated 26-7 last year.
The 2012 Pro Bowl saw an all-time high in scoring by one team, when the NFC put up 62 points on the AFC. In the last three Pro Bowls, however, no team has tallied more than 26 points.
As for the outright winner, the underdog has prevailed in nine of the last 15 games and gone 12-4 against the spread since 2004.
The favorite may hold the advantage in this year’s Pro Bowl, though, as members of the NFL’s best scoring offense (Baltimore) and top scoring defense (New England) are on the AFC roster.
