5 NFL players who should retire immediately
In light of the recent jaw-dropping news that Andrew Luck has decided to retire from the NFL, it's time to turn the spotlight on five other NFL players who should consider doing the same. These players all have various reasons for making this list, and I’ll be the first to admit it’s biased toward players who have cut into my bankroll.
1. Vontaze Burfict
Maybe a change of scenery and a new coaching staff will be what Burfict needs to resurrect and redeem his career, but the reason he’s on this list is because he’s a dangerous player who puts others in harm’s way. It’s a physical sport, and there have been many times throughout his career I’ve enjoyed watching the brutality with which he plays, but the game has changed, and Burfict hasn’t changed with it.Time to start talking about a long-term ban for Vontaze Burfict. pic.twitter.com/qH7WuAo3TI

2. Kyler Murray
America loves football and its stars. The money, TV viewers and gambling dollars prove it year after year. But baseball is where players get the most bang for their buck in terms of guaranteed contract dollars. If Murray is truly the baseball talent many said he is, why not play a sport that is tremendously better for your overall health while potentially making significantly more money? The Arizona Cardinals are going to be very bad, and Murray’s quick first step won’t change that. I’m not sure the Heisman winner and first overall draft pick is even playing the right sport.
3. Eli Manning
I don’t want this to be construed as hating on Eli. I think he has been a great NFL quarterback for a long time, and with a better offensive line could have had a more satisfying final chapter of his career. But with the heat he’s taken in recent years, both literally and figuratively, he’s no longer capable of being the solution to the NFL’s riddle.Eli Manning doing all he can to get that starting job 💀 pic.twitter.com/UqLWJqyIAh

4. Tom Brady
He’s already proven everything he needs to prove. He has the rings, the money, the family and the fame. Now let us watch the Patriots level out and regress to the mean, all while we simultaneously enjoy the bandwagon start to shake and rattle as people jump off.#Patriots QB Tom Brady asking “Why does everyone want me to retire?” When asked about retirement. pic.twitter.com/wquGxe4JDs
