Boost the Bankroll: NFL Four-Team Teaser Play for Week 12 of 2024
San Francisco at Green Bay highlights a 13-game slate, with six teams on bye, and YouBet will include the marquee matchup among its best bets in Week 12 of the 2024 NFL season. All lines courtesy of BetMGM; times listed as Eastern.
Buccaneers at Giants (1 p.m.): Buccaneers
The Giants are tied for the worst record in the league and benched Daniel Jones this week, not for performance but to protect from injury so they can release him during the offseason. Brian Daboll hopes to survive the miserable season and reset the program with a rookie quarterback at the helm in 2025, and his decision to start Tommy DeVito over Drew Lock, who was listed as the No. 2 quarterback and provides the Giants with their best chance to win, indicates their incentive to avoid winning.
After opening 4-2, Tampa Bay enters on a four-game losing slide, but those losses have come against Chiefs, Ravens, 49ers, and Falcons. And with the latter appearing to be declining in the last two weeks and Tampa owning an easier schedule over the next six games, the Buccaneers still have a viable chance to win the NFC South over the Falcons. The return of Mike Evans will provide a boost, and the Buccaneers figure to show up motivated.
Vikings at Bears (1 p.m.): Over
The Vikings will need to outscore the Bears, who improved after firing their offensive coordinator last week, recording 391 total yards against a solid Green Bay defense. The Packers managed to escape with a win following a botched Chicago field goal in the final seconds, and the Bears have now lost four straight, but Caleb Williams displayed better command leading an offense deep with wide receiver and tight end talent last week, adding 70 rushing yards on nine carries.
Minnesota didn’t play well defeating a pair of inept offenses the last two weeks (Tennessee and Jacksonville) and benefited from a pair of turnovers in a one-score win over Indianapolis three games back, but it remains eligible to get back on track against a Bears defense that has allowed a combined 1,044 total yards the last three games. The Vikings remain the league’s 10th-best scoring (24.4 points per game), and we will side with the Over.
Titans at Texans (1 p.m.): Titans
The Titans defense is playing at a high level, and the Texans must avoid a letdown on short rest after a big Monday night win over Dallas. Banged-up Houston had been scuffling prior to the performance, losing three of four games, and while its issues weren’t suddenly eliminated, last week’s performance resurrected the Texans as AFC contenders in the public forum.
But this meeting between division rivals may play to Tennessee’s strengths. The Titans allow only a 32.5% third-down conversion rate, third best in the league, and C.J. Stroud often finds himself in passing situations on third downs, leading all quarterbacks with 134 dropbacks and 108 pass attempts. And the Texans have allowed pressure at a 41% rate on third downs (22nd worst).
The Titans enter a miserable 1-9 ATS this season, but they’ve been more competitive in recent weeks, trailing the Chargers by three points midway through the third quarter and the Vikings by six points the last two weeks before losing by 10 points. This one may be decided by a smaller margin.
49ers at Packers (4:25 p.m.): Packers
Sean Rhyan played well while replacing injured guard Jordan Morgan last week, allowing only one pressure against Chicago’s defense, and the Packers offensive line ranks fourth in the league, according to PFF. San Francisco’s Nick Bosa may miss the game due to an oblique injury, and when he left the field late in the fourth quarter last week, Seattle ran the ball effectively and faced little pressure driving 80 yards to record a comeback win in the final seconds.
Green Bay’s fourth-ranked rushing offense will exploit the 49ers' banged-up defense, and San Francisco’s injury woes continue to affect both sides of the ball, with Brock Purdy dealing with right shoulder soreness and George Kittle looking to get back on the field after a hamstring injury sidelined him last week. The season hasn’t gone according to plan for the 49ers, and the situation can still get worse.
The Packers didn’t play their best football but found a way to win against divisional rival Chicago last week, recording their fifth victory in the last six games, and they look primed to make a serious run over the final seven weeks of the regular season.
