Boost the Bankroll: NFL Five-Team Teaser Play for Week 18 of 2025
Week 18 represents the final week of the 2024 NFL regular season, and the league has saved the best for last with a huge Sunday night match up between Detroit and Minnesota for home-field advantage in the NFC playoffs. YouBet will include the big game among its five best bets for Week 18, with odds courtesy of BetMGM and times listed as Eastern. The following selections are for Sunday games.
Bills at Patriots (1 p.m.): Patriots
Patriots gave the Bills all they could handle in Week 16, losing 24-21 on the road, but after a disastrous 40-7 loss to the Chargers in Week 17, first-year coach Jared Mayo’s status is in jeopardy. New England fans would probably love to lose this game (for draft positioning) and hire Mike Vrabel during the offseason, but they can’t have it both ways. The coaching staff and players will have everything to play for, and the Bills will treat this game like the preseason, utilizing back-ups and vanilla offensive and defensive sets. We expect Drake Maye to outplay Mitch Trubisky, and the Patriots will step up with their fourth victory of the season.
Jaguars at Colts (1 p.m.): Colts
After a bitterly disappointing campaign, Jacksonville salvaged a small measure of respectability winning their final home game last week, but the 4-12 Jaguars do not want to hurt their draft status by winning the final two games. And we want no part of this team on the road, as the Jags have scored only 30 combined points in their last three road games. The Colts eliminated themselves from playoff consideration with a crushing loss to the Giants last week, but they’ve put up a combined 83 points the last two weeks and will have too much firepower for a Mac Jones-led Jags offense. This one doesn’t project to be close.
Seahawks at Rams (4:25 p.m.): Seahawks
Rams will rest their starters in the season finale, and it wasn’t long ago that the 9-7 Seahawks controlled their own destiny, scoring a combined 56 points in back-to-back wins to open December. Seattle’s offense went off form against the defenses of Green Bay, Minnesota, and Chicago (all ranked top 12 in scoring defense) over the final three weeks of the season and they will miss the playoffs, but they’ll have something to build upon for next season by finishing up with a 10-7 record. Look for Seattle to go all out and win going away.
49ers at Cardinals (4:25 p.m.): Cardinals
Arizona enters with a 5-3 home record and improved to 10-5 ATS on the season with a strong showing at the Rams last week, squandering an opportunity to win by throwing a late interception. Cardinals have one of the youngest teams in the league and will look to establish positive momentum in the season finale against a Niners team that figures to have little left after a tough 40-34 home loss to Detroit. Niners went all out offensively but couldn’t stop the Lions, who never punted, and they figure to take a significant step back after losing Brock Purdy to an elbow injury.
Vikings at Lions (8:20 p.m.): Vikings
Vikings have extra motivation after being humbled by the Lions at home in Week 7, surrendering 144 rushing and 391 total yards in the first loss of the season, and their dynamic offense did score 29 points in the setback. Due to a rash of injuries, Detroit won’t have the same defense this time around, losing key contributors at all spots. Minnesota’s second-ranked run defense (allowing only 88.1 rushing yards per game) figures to perform better, and it’s realistic to expect more offensive success given that the Lions have surrendered at least 31 points in three of their last four games. Chicago and San Francisco failed to capitalize upon the Lions’ defensive deficiencies the last two weeks, but the Vikings are more than capable. Points attractive in a game we can easily envision being settled by less than a field goal.
