The greatest Philadelphia 76ers of all time
Philadelphia has a long, proud basketball history. The City of Brotherly Love is the birthplace of NBA legends like Wilt Chamberlain and Kobe Bryant, and has produced its fair share of All-Stars and Hall of Famers over the years.
Join us now as we salute the greatest Philadelphia 76ers of all time.
5. Charles Barkley

22.1 | 11.7 | 3.9 | 1.5 | 0.8 |
Position: Power forward
Accolades: Hall of Fame, 11x All-Star, 11x All-NBA, 1x MVP
Charles Barkley is perhaps better-known today as a pillar of the Inside the NBA TNT broadcast team, but the Hall of Famer rose to prominence with his work on the court in Philly. "The Round Mound of Rebound" has as many nicknames as he does All-NBA accolades, and both combined have made him one of the more magnetic figures in league history.

Barkley averaged double-digit rebounds every single season of his career minus his rookie year, and at just 6'6" is a case study in work ethic and leverage. The fact that Barkley is just fifth on this list speaks to the exceptional quality of players who have been with the Sixers.
4. Moses Malone

22.1 | 11.7 | 3.9 | 1.5 | 0.8 |
Position: Center
Accolades: Hall of Fame, 13x All-Star, 3x MVP, 8x-All NBA, 6x rebounding champion, NBA champion
Moses Malone might have been higher on our list had he spent more time in Philadelphia, but he accomplished plenty during his four seasons with the franchise. "The Chairman of the Boards" won an MVP and an NBA championship in 1983, and made four straight All-Star appearances during his tenure.

Malone averaged 23.9 points and 13.4 rebounds per game during his time in Philadelphia, and was a dominant force who made the 1983 season one of the best in 76ers history.
3. Allen Iverson
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK |
---|
22.1 | 11.7 | 3.9 | 1.5 | 0.8 |
Position: Point guard/shooting guard
Accolades: Hall of Fame, 11x All-Star, 4x scoring champion, 7x All-NBA, 1xMVP
For some 76ers fans, Allen Iverson is surely at the top of the list. He is one of the city's most endearing figures, and is considered one of the best pound-for-pound players of all time.
Iverson was a four-time scoring champion despite his small stature, and his lone victory against a loaded Los Angeles Lakers team in the 2001 NBA Finals is as compelling an argument for his greatness as any.

Looking back at the teammates Iverson had during his time in Philadelphia, it's no surprise his squads didn’t enjoy more postseason success. However, "AI" continued to put the team on his back for years, and give fans the kind of fiery star that you wanted to watch every night. More than anything, the crossover king inspired an entire generation of hoopers that were under six feet tall.
2. Wilt Chamberlain
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK |

22.1 | 11.7 | 3.9 | 1.5 | 0.8 |
Position: Center
Accolades: Hall of Fame, 13x All-Star, 7x scoring champion, 11x rebounding champion, 10x All-NBA, 4x MVP, 2x NBA champion
Wilt Chamberlain is arguably the most decorated NBA player of all time. The image of his 100-point game sign is etched on the mind of basketball fans everywhere, and in an era where his athleticism and size were unprecedented, he was truly the game's most dominant figure.
The legend only grows with time.

While a member of the 76ers, Chamberlain won three MVP awards. He is truly one of the greatest NBA players to ever lace 'em up.
1. Julius Erving
PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK |

22.1 | 11.7 | 3.9 | 1.5 | 0.8 |
Position: Small forward
Accolades: Hall of Fame, 16x All-Star, 7x All NBA, 4x MVP, NBA champion
"Dr. J" is the greatest Philadelphia 76ers player of all time. The 16-time All-Star spent 11 years in Philly, where his graceful above-the-rim play became the lasting legacy that so many still associate with this franchise.

Erving made the All-Star team every year he was with the Sixers, and is an icon for his longevity, athleticism, and class. Few players in NBA history have ever carried themselves as well as the diplomatic "Doctor."
