The circumstances surrounding the NBA restart are unique for many reasons. For a handful of replacement players, the experience is particularly special.

On July 1, the league began allowing the 22 teams competing in Orlando to sign substitute players to fill in for an individual who is either injured, has tested positive for COVID-19, or opted out of the restart.
