Hawks vs. Bucks: The best Trae Young prop bets for Game 2
The Atlanta Hawks pulled off a big upset in Game 1 of the 2021 Eastern Conference Finals, overcoming a late seven-point deficit to steal the first game on the road. It was a disappointing collapse for the Bucks, who have now failed to cover the spread in five straight conference finals games.
The catalyst for the Hawks was Trae Young, who put up 48 points. It was a massive bounceback from Young’s Game 7 against the 76ers, and he has the opportunity to double-down on that effort again tonight in Game 2.
Let’s take a look at the three best Trae Young player props bets to wager on this evening.
Over/Under 30.5 Points
Young's game is reminiscent of Steph Curry because of his range and creative flair. Unless he gets double-teamed, he’s a threat to score nearly anywhere on the court.

With his backcourt counterpart, Bogdan Bogdanovic, listed as questionable and clearly hobbled with a banged-up knee, Young should get even more touches tonight. Bogdanovic will almost certainly play, but he hasn’t looked as capable of getting his own shot, and seems a half-step slow. His injury could very well be the difference in the series, but is a positive for Young’s chances of scoring more points.
Given Young’s success in Game 1 and the young legs he brings, there's little reason to think he won’t continue to get his throughout this series. He averages 25.0 points per game, but teams will always rely on their stars more heavily this late in the season. Continue taking the Over on his nightly point projection and enjoy watching the fireworks.
Pick: Over 30.5 points
Over/Under 9.5 Assists
Nearly every possession will run through Young tonight when he's on the floor. Unless a mismatch occurs on the way up the court, he's going to have an opportunity to shoot or pass out of a double-team to an open teammate every single time.

Smartly, the team built around Young is one that gives him an opportunity to rack up a large number of assists. Clint Capela and John Collins are athletic bigs that can finish at the rim with relative ease. Danilo Gallinari and Kevin Huerter are solid shooters that can punish any team that doubles Young. Points will inevitably come from somewhere on the court, and Young gets the benefit of facilitating most of them. Young averaged 9.4 dimes per game during the regular season, and is a lock to surpass that total tonight.
Pick: Over 9.5 assists (-120)
Over/Under 3.5 Rebounds
Young has a small frame as far as NBA players go, coming in at 6’1" and just 180 pounds. He will be primarily defended by Jrue Holliday, who at 6’3" and 205 pounds has a noticeable bulk advantage. Young isn’t expected to get rebounds, and won’t bother risking his body to battle for them. Take the Under.
Pick: Under 3.5 rebounds (-109)
