FanEx Sports NBA Daily Fantasy Recap for 2/24/2014
Dirk's gets lucky bounce on game winner over Carmelo Anthony, who scored 44 points to lead all NBA scorers last night.
Monday's Top Studs:
- Carmelo Anthony - 55 FanEx points: Carmelo has been on an great run over the last four scoring over 35 points averaging 7 assists and 5 rebounds in that span. Hitting his value has not been an issue for Carmelo this season on most occasions, but with the end of the season looming in the minds of Knicks fans, is Carmelo playing his last season as a Knick? Many fans and beat writers believe this could be the last season the Knicks will have Carmelo as they didn't do much at the trade deadline to impress the veteran SF. It will be interesting to see what Carmelo does this summer as big name franchises are lurking in need for a new superstar.
- Thaddeus Young - 50 FanEx points: The Sixers may not have the worst record in the NBA, but they are fading fast. Moving both Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes, the 76ers left the sinking ship in the hands of both Michael Carter-Williams and Thaddeus Young (assuming that they buyout Danny Granger). The bright-side of this move for fantasy is that Thaddeus Young took a huge jump in fantasy value as he is really the only big man in the 76ers lineup that has been consistent all year. Now I am saying that Young is a must take when the 76ers play, he could be a spot value guy when they play due to his high upside in minutes. I mean someone has to score for this team right??
- Anthony Davis - 42 FanEx points: It is no big secret now that second year player Anthony Davis is and will be an elite player in this league. He has incredible skill sets for a 6'10" big man as he has taken a 7 point leap in his point average this season and is now averaging a double double on the season. Last night he went up against the Clippers who were just too big for the short-handed Pelicans. Davis held his own for most of the game against Blake Griffin scoring 26 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the game, yet the Clippers got the victory on the road in New Orleans.
- O.J. Mayo: Priced at $20.16, Mayo recorded on of his highest FanEx point total this season with 30 FanEx points. He is on the worst team in the NBA, the Bucks, but he proved to be a great value pick last night in what we called "the first televised pick-up game with the Bucks and the 76ers dueling it out for worst in the league." The Bucks have the worst record in the NBA right now, but the fading 76ers could go 0-11 in the entire month of February. Look for Mayo to continue to gain value playing when he plays against the bottom half of the league defensively.
- DeMarre Carroll - $28.76
- Mike Scott - $28.65
- Trevor Booker - $24.67
- Shelvin Mack - $18
- Evan Fournier - $24.83
- Thomas Robinson - $18
