FanEx Sports NBA Daily Fantasy Picks for 3/19/2014
Wednesday is the biggest day in the NBA and tonight we have a full slate of NBA games to fill your rosters with. LeBron and the Heat are on a back to back playing against the Celtics after LeBron's 43 point performance last night. Anthony Davis and the Pelicans play the Raptors tonight with the possibility of Jonas Valanciunas missing tonight's game. The Bulls and Spurs both play the two teams that give up the most fantasy points in the 76ers and the Lakers, but these games could be a blowout like their last meetings. Indiana and Paul George take their talents into New York to face Carmelo and the Knicks in the Knicks first game under the new direction of Phil Jackson. Overall it is a good slate for a Wednesday and a perfect one to create the ultimate lineup for WINNERS WEDNESDAY!
Winners Wednesday continues this Wednesday were the player with the most contest wins will receive a $50 bonus AND on the BetAmerica Facebook page anyone can guess how many winning contests it will take to win Winners Wednesday for a chance at another $50 bonus!
Alright lets get down to today's pick suggestions that could help you win Winners Wednesday.
Anthony Davis
Anthony Davis has been playing on a completely different level than all of his opponents in the month of March and tonight he and the Pelicans host the Raptors. If the Raptors were healthy I would say fade Davis tonight, but with Jonas Valanciunas questionable for tonight and Patrick Patterson out Davis should have a field day down low against Amir Johnson. Last month the Raptors beat the Pelicans 108 t 101 and Davis had a rather pedestrian game finishing with only 19 points and 7 rebounds, but don't expect that as Davis is averaging 32 points and 14 rebounds in the last 6 games for the Pelicans (leading to 4 wins as well). Therefore, Davis should be in almost everyone's lineups today.
Kenneth Faried
Faried is another player that is playing out of his mind in recent games helping the Nuggets defeat both the Heat and Clippers last week. Detroit will be missing their big man in the middle, Andre Drummond, and Denver could be without Ty Lawson and Wilson Chandler which means more opportunities for Faried to rack up the FanEx points. The Pistons are also on a 10 game road losing streak, but Denver lost 8 games during Lawson's absence earlier in the season so something has to give tonight.
Josh Smith
Last time the Pistons played the Nuggets, Smith put up a 30-point, 10-rebound, and 8-assist game that led to a 17 point Pistons victory. Tonight, the Pistons go to Denver with no Andre Drummond, but the Nuggets will be shorthanded as well (described above). Josh Smith seems to be the main beneficiary with Drummond gone tonight, and Greg Monroe should get decent fantasy value as well at a slightly lower price than Smith. Look for Smith and Faried to go head to head to tonight with both of them having great value in big Wednesday slate.
Kendall Marshall
The banged up, limping to the finish line Lakers took another hit losing Farmar for at least two weeks, and with Nash ruled out for the season (there are talks he could come back now) Marshall is the only real point guard the Lakers have for tonight's game. The Spurs routed the Lakers in San Antonio last week and the Spurs now come to LA where the Lakers have had some success. I don't believe this game will be quite as big of a blowout, so Marshall and some other Lakers players should be able to get some decent value tonight with Marshall getting the most minutes due to recent injuries. Value could be sucked right out of all players if the games gets ugly so spot play some Lakers tonight with the hopes that the right Lakers team shows up.
Aaron Brooks
If Ty Lawson doesn't play tonight, then Aaron Brooks will get the start against a sub-par defensive team in the Pistons. Brooks is only $18, so he is a great fill-in if you need a cheap option at the guard position. Randy Foye will also benefit from the Lawson news, but for is priced at $29.76 and could have a higher risk if for some reason Lawson does give it a go. Keep an eye out for the Lawson news to come in closer to game time, but Brooks seems to be the safer and cheaper play given his increased minutes without Lawson.
