So start filling out those rosters on this busy Wednesday in the NBA. Below are a few players to consider when filling out your rosters and looking for players that will hit or exceed their value tonight.
Wednesday's NBA value picks:
- Kris Humphries - $25.90 - The Celtics will host the Knicks tonight without Tyson Chandler. Kris is getting the nod to start at Center tonight and the Knicks have one of the worst defensive mind sets out of anyone in the NBA. Therefore, look for Kris to continue his recent success and put up value passing numbers. Last night he put up 15 points and 9 rebounds against a solid Pacers team, so without a legit big man in the middle for the Knicks, Kris could have a field day down low.
- Celtics PGs - Rondo is still not playing in back to backs and has been ruled out for tonight, and Avery Bradley is still battling injury and will not play tonight. The two direct beneficiaries from these injuries are Jerryd Bayless ($24.70) and Phil Pressey ($18). Bayless is the safer option here as he has been starting for the Celtics for some time now, but Pressey could see some solid minutes tonight's well making his $18 value seem extremely low.
- Cousins, Gay, or Isaiah Thomas - At this point everyone should know that any team playing the 76ers should put up season best numbers. The 76ers are on a 17 game losing streak, even despite some decent play by Michael Carter-Williams and Thaddeus Young, so I would heavily consider a few Kings players tonight as they travel to Philadelphia trying to stretch the 76ers losing streak to 18. Cousins is priced at $50.76, Rudy Gay is at $41.70, and Thomas is at $46.86, so take your pick.
- Michael Carter-Williams - $44.59 - I like this match up for MCW as he is going up against a much smaller defender in Isaiah Thomas. I think both will have good games and both reach value, but MCW has the biggest upside tonight due to how much of the 76ers offense relies on MCW to either score or create for others. Look for the 6'6'' rookie to possibly post up the 5'9" Thomas creating more opportunities for MCW to reach value tonight.
- Manu Ginobli - $28.67 - It always seems that pre-season the Spurs are overlooked and called "old", but every season they seem to always find their way to the top of the Western Conference down the stretch of the regular season. Much like the overlooked team he plays for, Ginobli hasn't been mention in a ton of fantasy conversations, but I think it is time that we start paying attention. Over his last two, Ginobli has scored over 20 points and tonight he faces a Portland team that is susceptible to having shoot-it out games with little defense.
