Hamlin, Elliott coming on strong for NASCAR championship futures
With the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series on a bye this weekend, there's no better time to consider a futures wager. This long-term investment could pay off in roughly three months.
The NASCAR playoff system is a wild, 10-week schedule that eliminates drivers from contention every three weeks, until a final four remain for the Miami-Homestead season finale race. We're going to look at two drivers who present the best value at this point in the season.

Denny Hamlin
I'm bullish on Denny Hamlin. Hamlin and his team are currently the best in the sport. The 2019 Daytona 500 Champion not only started this season off strong, but the last month has been some of the best racing of his career.I'm not sure what Hamlin or his team found, but they've found something. Maybe the 2019 race package is to his liking or his team is just bringing great cars to the track. Nevertheless, no driver in the sport is better right now.

In the last six Cup races, he hasn't finished out of the top five and has two wins. It's extremely difficult to have that kind of success in the Cup series. In the last 15 races, Hamlin has seven top-five finishes. Hamilin has never won a championship in his career, but the time is now. He should be +300, but instead he's +650. It's a gift under the Christmas tree just waiting for you.
Chase Elliott
I'm not so bullish on Chase Elliott, but at +10000, he is worth a shot. Some of the races in the playoffs will be good races for Elliott. He can run well at Talladega, Martinsville, Kansas and even the championship Homestead race.Rate this miss by Chase Elliott on a scale of 1-10:

The hope would be for him to make final four, and you would then be holding a 10/1 ticket rather than his race-day odds, which would likely be lower. Elliott has been boom or bust all season long. Some of that is on his team finding speed at some places and not at others. However, Elliott has two wins this season, at Talladega and Watkins Glen.
You can't beat getting double-digit odds on a two-time winner. Elliott is starting to turn the corner and has been stepping up his game this season. He's capable and worth a look.
