UFC Fight Night: Felder vs. Dos Anjos odds and preview
A crossroads clash with major implications takes center stage on Saturday, Nov. 14 when Paul Felder (17-5-0) faces off against Rafael Dos Anjos (29-13-0) in the main event of UFC Fight Night 183. BetAmerica has the only preview you need for this eagerly anticipated grudge match!
Felder not finished yet
"The Irish Dragon" has been extremely vocal lately, but it’s clear that's about tying up loose ends. Felder should have earned the split decision win against Dan Hooker, and the sheer brutality of the bout pushed him towards retirement. Now rested and given a prime opportunity to go out with a win, Felder has the right opponent for the job.
Dos Anjos was being served up for Islam Makhachev’s coming out party, so his role doesn’t change much here. Felder is a tough battler who can get bloody and nasty when he has to, and the time off since the Hooker brawl will serve him well.
Don Anjos is in serious decline
Bettors should be advised that Dos Anjos has gone 1-4 in his last five fights and is moving down in weight. Previously, Dos Anjos moved up from lightweight after a rough patch and weight struggles. It’s easier for older fighters to move up a weight class than down. From what we’ve seen in his recent performances, it’s surprising he’s a slight favorite even when considering Felder stepped in on such short notice.
What he does have going for him is his reliable chin, and Felder’s style will give him a stationary target at times. He’s the bigger man with a better resume, but his recent form, weight drop, and mileage makes him a risky pick for an upset. Dos Anjos has never been a big puncher, so it’s likely he’s going to get the worst of the exchanges as the fight progresses towards the later rounds.
"The Irish Dragon" will prevail in a war
All signs point to a physical war of attrition, and that will certainly favor the fresher Felder. A straight moneyline bet on Felder is a good pick, but Dos Anjos isn’t going to get stopped in this one. This has the makings of a fight that goes the distance, and Felder should have no trouble outworking Dos Anjos to win on the cards.
