UFC 240: Super Odds on Max Holloway to win

Current UFC featherweight champ Max Holloway is hungry for victory in his upcoming bout against Frankie Edgar after a decision loss to Dustin Poirier in April at UFC 236.
Holloway watched a 13-fight win streak come to a crushing end in his move up to lightweight, but the 27-year-old is in perfect position to regain momentum as he moves back to featherweight in the main event of UFC 240 in Canada.
Holloway (20-4-0, 10 KOs) is the -425 favorite to defeat Edgar (22-6-1, 6-1 KO) inside Rogers Place in Alberta, but at BetAmerica you can earn twice the payout if you feel confident the Hawaiian striker will come out on top by opting in to Super Odds on the fight (Holloway now -200 to win).
Edgar is a 37-year-old veteran MMA fighter who may be taking his last shot at featherweight glory. Egdar moved to the division from lightweight in 2013 and has won eight of 10 since then. His two losses came in 2016 to Jose Aldo by decision and last year to Brian Ortega by knockout.
Holloway also faced Ortega the same year as Edgar, but “Blessed” fared far better, knocking out Ortega to defend his featherweight title. Holloway’s also beaten Edgar’s nemesis Aldo twice via knockout.
Aside from a more impressive recent résumé, Holloway is five inches taller than Edgar, who comes in at 5-foot-6. The striker has a slightly longer reach on his older counterpart, as well.
It would be shocking to see Holloway fall to an aging Edgar, but expect the old veteran to put up an unyielding battle in the beginning. This fight has the potential to go the distance if Edgar can stay on his toes, but with Holloway looking to make a statement, one brutal blow to Edgar will ultimately land the champ his 11th knockout victory and sixth in his last nine matches.
Aside from the featherweight showdown Saturday, the co-main event of the night features Cristiane Justino (-710), better known as Cris Cyborg, going up against Felicia Spencer (+485). The 20-2 Justino just lost to Amanda Nunes at UFC 232 and hopes to take down the undefeated up-and-comer Spencer, who defeated Megan Anderson via submission in her UFC debut.
The rest of Saturday’s card includes a bout between Geoff Neal (-325) and Niko Price (+255) at welterweight, Olivier Aubin-Mercier (+165) vs. Arman Tsarukyan (-200) at lightweight and Marc-Andre Barriault (+140) vs. Krzysztof Jotko (-170) at middleweight. Pay-per-view coverage will begin at 10 p.m. ET.
