Yankees vs. Blue Jays: The best player prop bets for Sept. 29
Another MLB playoff-shaping matchup will take place at Rogers Centre on Wednesday night as the New York Yankees visit the Toronto Blue Jays. The Yankees prevailed in the series opener on Tuesday night, extending their lead in the Wild Card race and making things that much harder for the Blue Jays, who are fighting with the Red Sox and Mariners just to get into the postseason.
Let’s dive into this Wednesday showdown – featuring a pitching matchup between Gerrit Cole and Jose Berrios – and highlight three player prop wagers worth an investment.
New York Yankees (90-67) at Toronto Blue Jays (87-70), 7:07 p.m. ET, ESPN
Giancarlo Stanton Over/Under 0.5 RBI
The Bombers have won seven straight thanks in no small part to the exploits of Giancarlo Stanton. The oft-injured slugger has been able to stay on the field, and has five home runs over his last six games.

Stanton has 25 RBI for the month of September, including 15 over his last six games. He doesn’t have to drive the ball out of the park for Over bettors to cash here, and the price seems fair.
MLB pick: Over (+155)
Joey Gallo Over/Under 0.5 runs scored
The Yankees have played inspired baseball since the trade deadline, but it’s hard to point to deadline acquisition Joey Gallo as a major factor in that.

Gallo is batting a paltry .181 in September, and has just two hits in his last 18 trips to the plate. He’s 1-for-10 all-time against Berrios, and has scored just one run in 33 games against the Blue Jays in 2021, hitting .091 in that sample.
Don’t expect Gallo to cross the plate in any fashion on Wednesday night.
MLB pick: Under (-167)
Jose Berrios Over/Under 5.5 strikeouts
Berrios has tallied six straight quality starts for Toronto, which includes his victory over New York on Sept. 9 (two earned runs allowed over 6 2/3 innings). His stuff has been electric in that span.

Berrios is averaging 14.2 strikeouts per nine innings over his last seven starts. He eclipsed 5.5 punchouts in all but one of those outings. As dangerous as the Yankees lineup can be at times, they are still a very strikeout-prone unit. Only five major-league clubs have struck out more times than the Bombers have in 2021.
MLB pick: Over (-136)
