Yankees vs. A's: The best player prop bets for Aug. 27
The New York Yankees (75-52) will put their 12-game winning streak on the line tonight when they face the Oakland A’s (70-58) on the bright side of the Bay.
The Bronx Bombers haven’t lost since Aug. 12, and have seen their playoff probability rise to 96% during their latest red-hot stretch.
The Yankees will give the ball to Gerrit Cole (12-6, 2.92 ERA), who is riding a two-game winning streak of his own. The A’s will counter with ace Sean Manaea (8-8, 3.77 ERA), who is coming off a disastrous outing against the Houston Astros in which he gave up five earned runs in just 4.2 innings.
First pitch is scheduled for 9:40 p.m. ET, and we have the three best player prop bets to wager on below.
Gerrit Cole: Over/Under 7.5 strikeouts
Few hurlers have been harder to hit this season than Cole. The 30-year-old flamethrower leads the American League in wins, complete games, WHIP, and strikeouts per nine innings, and is third in ERA and WAR for pitchers. He’s coming off a six-inning gem against the Minnesota Twins in which he surrendered just five hits, and has given up only one run in his last two games combined.

The four-time All-Star has also dominated the A’s like few others since joining the AL. Cole is 4-1 lifetime against Oakland since 2018, and this iteration of the Athletics is "hitting" just .144 against him. Matt Olson has only reached base on Cole once in 19 at bats, and that was on a walk. Mark Canha, Starling Marte, Mitch Moreland, and Chad Pinder are among the other A’s who have eked out just one hit against the "Cole Train."
Expect another dominant performance tonight and a whole lotta zeroes on the scoreboard.
Pick: Over 7.5 strikeouts
Aaron Judge: Over/Under 0.5 runs
The Yankees have hit just .187 against Manaea as a team, but one player who’s had no issue seeing "The Throwin’ Samoan’s" fourseam fastball is Aaron Judge. The 6’7”, 282 lb. slugger has three hits in nine appearances against Manaea, including a tape measure home run that may still be orbiting Oakland Coliseum.

Judge was the hero on Thursday, when he hit a bloop single in the ninth to give the Yankees a 7-6 lead. He's hitting .368 over the last seven days and should remain hot tonight.
Pick: Over 0.5 runs (+110)
Giancarlo Stanton to Hit a Home Run
One of the reasons for Manaea's pedestrian record is his inability to keep balls in the stadium. The six-year vet has already surrendered 19 home runs, and has given up two dingers or more in a game five times this season.
That's particularly worrisome since he'll be facing one of the game's most fearsome sluggers tonight in Giancarlo Stanton. The former MVP and Home Run Derby champ has hit 23 taters this season, including three in his last three games.
Giancarlo Stanton has now homered in back-to-back-to-back games, extending his season-high on-base streak to 22 games.

That’s his longest such streak since a 27-game stretch in 2017 … Stanton won MVP that season. pic.twitter.com/kM42vmnhXh
Expect Stanton to make it four straight tonight as he muscles another pitch out of the park.
Pick: Yes (+300)
