Tuesday MLB preview: Brewers at Pirates, Phillies at Diamondbacks
Milwaukee Brewers (58-56) at Pittsburgh Pirates (48-64), 7:05 p.m. ET
Chase Anderson (5-2, 3.73 ERA) (MIL) -150 / -1.5 runs (EVEN) / Over 10 runs (-105)
Steven Brault (3-1, 4.15 ERA) (PIT) +135 / +1.5 runs (-120) / Under 10 runs (-115)
Chase Anderson will counter for the Brewers, and while his home and road ERA are about the same (3.79 and 3.65, respectively), his opponent batting average jumps more than 40 points in road starts and his WHIP goes from 1.035 to 1.459. Pirates center fielder Starling Marte has an OPS of 1.265 all-time against Anderson (34 at-bats), so look for him to lead the way on offense.
Leake posted a 3.00 ERA and 1.167 WHIP in July for the Mariners, his best month of 2019, highlighted by a one-hit shutout performance against the Angels on July 19. He has had success against several of Philadelphia's best bats, including right fielder Bryce Harper and catcher J.T. Realmuto (3-for-28 combined all-time).
Jake Arrieta owns a 5.98 ERA in his last 11 starts and has failed to advance past the sixth inning each time. His WHIP in 11 efforts on the road this year is 1.476, and opponents are batting .298 against him. Arizona center fielder Ketel Marte and third baseman Jake Lamb, a combined 11-for-23 (.478) all-time against Arrieta, should be productive in this one.

Pittsburgh starter Steven Brault returns from a one-month IL stint (shoulder), and he faces a familiar foe in Milwaukee. He's seen the Brewers more than any other team this year and has held his own in those three encounters, with a 2.40 ERA over 15 innings. It's not surprising the Brew Crew has had trouble against Brault. The Brewers are 21st in batting average against lefties (.248) this year. Milwaukee is fifth in home runs this season (184), but Brault has allowed just one in his last 44 1/3 innings of work.Chase Anderson will counter for the Brewers, and while his home and road ERA are about the same (3.79 and 3.65, respectively), his opponent batting average jumps more than 40 points in road starts and his WHIP goes from 1.035 to 1.459.
