The ultimate MLB awards quiz
Major League Baseball made headlines on Monday when it announced the three finalists for each of the awards handed out by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. Up for grabs are the Most Valuable Player, Cy Young, Rookie of the Year, and Manager of the Year Awards in both the American and National League.
This year features a number of too-close-to-call races including the chase for the NL Cy Young Award. Reds ace Trevor Bauer, Cubs hulrer Yu Darvish, and two-time winner Jacob deGrom of the Mets all turned in outstanding campaigns and should attract their fair share of ballots. Complicating things for voters this year is the fact that each player made 12 starts or less owing to baseball's shortened 60-game season.
The AL MVP race could also come down to a photo finish. White Sox slugger Jose Abreu led the league in both hits and slugging percentage, but he faces stiff competition from Yankees second sacker DJ LeMahieu, who hit .364 average and finished first in on-base percentage and OPS, and Indians masher Jose Ramirez, who clubbed 17 homers in just 219 at bats.
All winners will be announced from Nov. 9 to Nov. 12 on MLB Network. Brush up on your knowledge of the MLB's top awards while you wait by taking our latest quiz.
