Reds vs. Braves: The best player prop bets for Aug. 11
With the MLB trade deadline in the rearview mirror, the Atlanta Braves (58-55) and Cincinnati Reds (61-53) are battling for the top spots in their respective divisions. Both teams were buyers at the deadline with the Reds, currently seven games back of the NL Central leading Milwaukee Brewers, picking up a few relief pitchers. The Braves, who are only one game behind the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East, stocked up on both bats and arms.
The Reds and Braves are set to go head-to-head for the second game of their three-game series this evening. The Braves took the opener last night with a 3-2 win powered by a two-run shot by deadline acquisition Adam Duvall. Cincinnati will look to bounce back tonight with veteran Wade Miley (9-4) facing off against the much younger Touki Toussaint (1-2), who has only has pitched 22.1 innings this season.
First pitch is at 7:20 p.m. ET and we have three of our favorite player prop bets below.
WADE MILEY: OVER/UNDER 4.5 STRIKEOUTS
Miley, who threw a complete game no-hitter back on May 7, is averaging 6.9 strikeouts per nine innings. Should he get past the fifth inning and go even deeper into the game, his chances of topping the Over for K’s looks very solid, even against a pesky Braves lineup that includes red-hot third baseman Austin Riley.
PICK: OVER 4.5 STRIKEOUTS (+120)
AUSTIN RILEY: OVER/UNDER 0.5 RUNS
Even though we like Miley tonight, we can't ignore the tear Riley has been on over the last two weeks. The 24-year-old from Memphis has hit .313 with four homers and 12 RBIs during that stretch.

Look for Riley to continue his strong approach at the plate and to get on base and score at least one run tonight.
PICK: OVER 0.5 RUNS (-114)
Joey Votto TO HIT A HR AND THE REDS TO WIN THE GAME
Another bat we like belongs to the hitting machine that is Joey Votto, who clubbed an astounding nine home runs during the final week of July. The 15-year vet has been captaining the Reds by example, and has won MLB Player of the Week honors five times so far this season. He’s also a fun guy in the clubhouse and beloved by fans. How can anyone dislike this guy?!
Well, this was a no-brainer. 🤓

More congrats to Joey Votto, this time for being named NL Player of the Week! 🙌 pic.twitter.com/ZmLmp8OQK3
With the inexperienced Toussaint on the mound, we like Votto to be ready to take one of Touki’s mistakes over the fences and continue to flash his power. But we’re not done there! Since we like Miley against Toussaint and Votto’s chances of going yard, why not take a shot on the bold play of Votto to hit a HR and the Reds to win for a lucrative +600 payout? If there’s a prop to gamble on across tonight’s baseball action, this is definitely the one we want on our ticket.
PICK: JOEY VOTTO (+600)
