MLB Tuesday preview: Padres at Yankees, Rangers at Mariners

Betting on the Yankees has been like printing money of late, as they're 12-2 in their last 14 games and 11-3 on the runline. Giving the 1.5 runs looks like the way to go again, as they host the Padres on Tuesday night.

San Diego starter Eric Lauer owns a woeful 8.24 ERA in four road starts this year (.278 batting average against). New York's offense has been on a roll in their last 10 contests, averaging 7.3 runs per game. Second baseman Gleyber Torres and catcher Gary Sanchez have led the way, posting eight home runs and 14 RBIs apiece in May.

Bombers backers should expect another solid start from Masahiro Tanaka, who has pitched to a 2.15 ERA in May. In five starts he has struck out 28 batters and walked just four.

Texas Rangers (25-26) at Seattle Mariners (24-32), 10:10 p.m. ET

Texas' Adrian Sampson and Seattle's Marco Gonzales are not household names, but they should be able to hold down the fort for their respective clubs Tuesday night and help Under bettors cash.

Sampson and Gonzales last met just six days ago, and each starter allowed a run apiece in 12 1/3 combined innings. The Mariners' offense has gone into the tank after a hot start and is hitting .231 in May (25th in the majors). The Rangers' bats have been better this month (.244, 19th), but they've struggled mightily against lefties like Gonzales all year (.217, tied for last).

Bettors would be wise to invest in the first five innings market instead of full time, as the Rangers' bullpen is 25th in the majors in ERA, while the Mariners' relief corps ranks 27th.
