MLB player props: Most hits, runs, RBIs and more

Major League Baseball may be on hold, but that doesn’t mean you have to sit on the sidelines twiddling your thumbs until the boys of summer return. The oddsmakers at BetAmerica are making sure America’s national pastime remains front and center with a slew of new player props for most hits, most runs, most RBIs, and most stolen bases. Let’s break down each category.

Oddsmakers can't seem to make up their minds over who will record the most hits in 2020, as Nolan Arenado, Whit Merrifield, and Jose Altuve all sport identical +1200 odds. All three players are solid choices, but If you're interested in slightly better value, we recommend Christian Yelich at +2200. The Brewers slugger led the National League in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS and OPS+ a year ago, and would have been among the leaders in hits had he not broken his kneecap on Sept. 10 and missed the final 18 games of the season.

Yelich is back to 100% after a winter of intense rehab and should continue his assault on baseball's record books in 2020.

Runs are dependent on two things: A player must be good enough to get on base and he must be followed in the order by players who can knock him in. Mookie Betts checks both of these boxes. The former AL MVP ranks 12th in on-base percentage among all active players and will be hitting in front of a quintet of All-Stars in Max Muncy, Justin Turner, Cody Bellinger, Corey Seager, and Joc Pederson. Frankly, if the Dodgers had any more talent in their lineup the feds would be compelled to break them up.

Assuming Betts stays healthy, he should have no problem leading the league in runs for the third straight year.

MLB free pick: Mookie Betts

It should come as no surprise to see Arenado's name atop this list. The Rockies slugger led the league in runs batted in 2015 and 2016 and has averaged 119 RBIs per year over the last three seasons. Arenado is remarkably durable and benefits from playing his home games in a stadium where routine fly balls regularly turn into tape measure home runs. 

Don't overthink this one. Arenado is your man.

Kansas City Royals infielder Adalberto Mondesi is a deserving favorite, but we're going to take a flyer on his All-Star teammate Whit Merrifield instead. The 31-year-old second baseman led the American League in steals in 2017 and 2018 and also topped the charts in triples a year ago. He still possesses blazing speed and is a virtual "steal" at +2500.
