MLB picks: Diamondbacks vs. Marlins, Indians vs. Royals
Let’s take a look at baseball’s best available bets for Wednesday night!
We’ll highlight a clash between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Miami Marlins before moving on to an AL Central showdown between the Cleveland Indians and Kansas City Royals.
Arizona Diamondbacks (15-14) at Miami Marlins (12-16), 6:40 p.m. ET
The Marlins exploded for six runs in the eighth inning of the series opener against the Diamondbacks’ bullpen on Tuesday night in a 9-3 victory. They should replicate that success in Miami on Wednesday night.
Luke Weaver starts for Arizona, and his road splits on the season are terrible – 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA and a .295 opponent batting average (14 2/3 innings). If the Marlins’ bats don’t break through against him, they surely will against the D-backs’ 29th-rated bullpen by ERA over the last two weeks (7.68).

Look for Miami first baseman Jesus Aguilar – who’s accumulated 13 RBI over an 11-game span – to lead the way.
Countering for the Fish is Pablo Lopez, and he’s allowed just one earned run in his last 19 innings of work. Backing him up is a Marlins bullpen that’s seventh in ERA (2.93) over the last two weeks.
MLB pick: Marlins -148
Cleveland Indians (15-13) at Kansas City Royals (16-12), 8:10 p.m. ET
Under bettors should flock to the windows as the Indians and Royals send their aces to the hill at Kauffman Stadium on Wednesday night.
Defending AL Cy Young winner Shane Bieber has delivered a quality start in each of his first six outings for Cleveland this year. That includes his 6 1/3 innings of two-run ball against Kansas City on April 7. Backing him up is an outstanding Indians relief corps that’s fourth by ERA this season (2.71).

Sophomore Brady Singer toes the rubber for the Royals, and he should be fresh after pitching just two innings in his most recent outing due to an injury scare.
Singer tossed two straight quality starts prior to that effort on April 30, surrendering only one earned run over 13 innings. He befuddled the Tribe in 2020, holding them to two runs and a .093 batting average in 13 innings of work.
K.C.’s leaky bullpen (5.23 ERA, 26th in baseball) is a concern, but the Indians’ 18th-ranked offense (4.21 runs per game) shouldn’t do too much damage. The Under is 7-2 in Cleveland’s last nine road games against right-handed starters.
