MLB picks: Braves vs. Mets, Blue Jays vs. Marlins
Let’s take a look at Tuesday’s MLB slate and highlight our two best bets on the diamond!
First up is an NL East rivalry game between the Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets. We’ll wrap things up with a look at an interleague showdown between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Miami Marlins.
Atlanta Braves (34-37) at New York Mets (37-30), 7:10 p.m. ET
Two starting pitchers on a roll should keep the scoring to a minimum at Citi Field on Tuesday night as the Braves visit the Mets.
Charlie Morton will toe the rubber for Atlanta, going for his fifth win in six starts. His recent hot streak was jumpstarted by six innings of one-run-baseball against New York at Truist Park on May 19. Morton carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning against the St. Louis Cardinals when last seen.
“Ground Chuck” takes on a Mets offense that’s plated just 13 runs in its last seven games (55 innings).

Marcus Stroman counters for the Mets, looking for his seventh straight quality start. He’s tossed 40 strikeouts compared to just nine walks over his last six outings. Atlanta’s lineup is also mired in a minor slump, producing just five runs over its last four contests, all of the seven-inning variety.
The way these two offenses are going, the fact that their bullpens both rank in the bottom third by ERA over the last two weeks shouldn’t bother Under bettors. The Under is 21-8-2 in the Mets’ last 31 home games.
MLB pick: Under
Toronto Blue Jays (35-35) at Miami Marlins (31-40), 7:10 p.m. ET
The Marlins’ superior pitching staff should carry their team to victory over the Blue Jays on Tuesday night.
Sandy Alcantara starts for Miami, sporting a sensational 1.91 ERA over his last six efforts. He’s been ruthlessly efficient at home in 2021, producing a .184 opponent batting average with 46 strikeouts and only 10 walks.
Backing Alcantara is a Marlins bullpen that’s seventh in the majors by ERA over the last 14 days (3.08).
Ross Stripling responds for Toronto, and his road efforts this year have left a lot to be desired. He owns a 5.16 ERA over six starts along with a .264 opponent batting average.
HE’S ON ANOTHER PLANET! Adam Duvall with home run number 2️⃣ on the day!

It’s his second day in a row with a multi-homer game. Marlins pouring it on the Cubs.

The Blue Jays’ bullpen has not offered much relief of late, authoring the league’s second-worst bullpen ERA over the last two weeks (6.31). Look for Adam Duvall, who had four homers and 10 RBI in Miami’s weekend series with the Chicago Cubs, to produce at the dish.
MLB pick: Marlins -125
