 Tight Division Races Highlight September National League Pennant Futures!

Two National League division races remain in the balance as the teams push for the pennant with just over two weeks remaining in the regular season. The odds at the sportsbook still favor the Los Angeles Dodgers to return to the World Series despite LA trailing the Colorado Rockies by 1.5 games in the NL West with 16 games remaining.

The only team that has essentially secured the division is the Atlanta Braves (82-64), who are 7.5 games in front of the fading Philadelphia Phillies (74-71) in the NL East. The Phillies have lost 5-straight games and 9 of their last 11.

The NL Central is up for grabs with the Chicago Cubs looking to repeat as division champs. The Cubs (84-61) are 1-game in front of the Milwaukee Brewers (84-63) with two games in hand, and also lead the St. Louis Cardinals (81-65) by 3.5 games.

The Colorado Rockies (80-65) are trying to hold off both the LA Dodgers (79-67) and Arizona Diamondbacks (77-69), and the D’backs also struggling in September with a record of 3-8.

The current odds in the National League Pennant futures at BetAmerica show a pretty tight fight with the Dodgers and Cubs the favorites and some decent prices on both the Rockies and Brewers to still win the NL pennant. The odds will change once the playoffs are set, but the bookmakers still have the National League as an underdog to win the World Series against the American League.

The National League is currently +130 to win the World Series, while the American League is a -165 favorite.
