Mets vs. Red Sox: The best player prop bets for Sept. 21
The Boston Red Sox (86-65) will put their five-game winning streak on the line tonight when they host the New York Mets (73-77) in the first match of a short two-game series.
The Red Sox currently have the edge in the AL Wild Card race, while the Mets are 7.5 games back in the NL Wild Card hunt after going 1-5 last week.
New York will turn to Marcus Stroman (9-12, 2.88 ERA, 151 K) to get the job done against Boston's Eduardo Rodriguez (11-8, 5.00 ERA, 165 K). It will be a tough task for Stroman, as the Red Sox have a strong 47-29 record at Fenway this year and boast the second highest slugging percentage (.448) and fourth highest runs per game average (5.14) in the American League.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET and we have the three best player prop bets to wager on below.
MARCUS STROMAN: OVER/UNDER 4.5 STRIKEOUTS
Marcus Stroman now has five quality starts in his last six outings and is coming off a solid game against the St. Louis Cardinals in which he had eight punch outs and only allowed two earned runs over six innings. He’s averaged 6.17 strikeouts over his past six games and has lasted at least five innings on each occasion.
Statistically, the Red Sox have a great offense and are on a nice five-game streak in which they’ve only been called out on strikes an average of 3.4 times to starting pitchers. This trend may be too much for Stroman to overcome against a hungry and disciplined Sox lineup playing at home and looking to stay in control of their postseason destiny.
PICK: UNDER 4.5 STRIKEOUTS (+112)
HUNTER RENFROE: OVER/UNDER 0.5 RUNS SCORED
Leading the way for the Sox has been Hunter Renfroe, who has knocked in six RBIs and scored six runs in his last four games.

The right fielder is putting up the best numbers of his career, setting new personal highs in RBIs (91), runs (84), and OBP (.318). On top of those numbers, Renfroe loves playing at Fenway, where he's generated 51 of his runs this season.
PICK: OVER 0.5 RUNS (+155)
KYLE SCHWARBER: OVER/UNDER 0.5 RBIS
Playing against the righty Stroman, the left-handed bat of Kyle Schwarber should be in the lineup for the Red Sox tonight. Being deployed more as a platoon hitter, Schwarber carries a .951 OPS and has collected 56 of his 66 RBIs this season against right-handers.

Schwarber is riding a three game hit streak, which includes a bases-clearing three RBI pinch-hit double against the Mariners last week. Expect him to knock in one run or more tonight.
PICK: OVER 0.5 RBIS (+162)
