Blue Jays vs. Yankees: The best player prop bets for Sept. 7
The surging Toronto Blue Jays (74-62) will look to extend their win streak to six games tonight, as they'll take on the New York Yankees (78-59) in the Bronx.
The Blue Jays took the first game of the series, 8-0, and sit three games back for a wild card spot. They’ll look to chip away at the deficit with another big win against the Yankees, who are in the first wild card spot in the American League.
The Yankees are 3-7 in their last 10 games, but they had a strong August, which featured a 21-8 record and a 13-game win streak. They’ll hand the ball to their ace, Gerrit Cole (14-6, 2.73 ERA, 215 strikeouts), with the hope to get the team on track. Toronto will counter with Steven Matz (10-7, 3.81 ERA, 116 strikeouts).
First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. ET and we have three player props to consider.
Gerrit Cole: Over/Under 8.5 strikeouts
Off a dominant performance against the Angels last week, when he struck out 15 in seven innings, Cole face a Blue Jays lineup that is playing its best baseball of the season.
It will be a game with few surprises, as this will be the Blue Jays’ fourth matchup against Cole this season. He has fared well, with a 2-0 record, 20 strikeouts, and a .171 opponent batting average.
15 strikeouts for Gerrit Cole tonight 🔥

The Blue Jays, however, have the hottest bats in the league over the last seven days. They lead most categories, including runs scored (42), home runs (14), and batting average.
Toronto will put together quality at-bats and battle against Cole.
Pick: Under 8.5 strikeouts (-148)
Marcus Semien: Over/Under 0.5 runs scored
The hottest of the Blue Jays' hitters is Marcus Semien, who has five home runs, 10 RBIs, and five runs scored in his last five games.

The 2021 All-Star infielder has put together one of the best seasons of his nine-year career. His stat line this season sits at 97 runs, 37 home runs, and 87 RBIs.
But against Cole, over 28 plate appearances, Semien has only managed three walks and three hits, although two went for home runs.
Expected to bat second in the lineup tonight, Semien should provide at least one chance to create a run in a crucial game, where the best players tend to shine.
Pick: Over 0.5 runs (+105)
DJ LeMahieu: Over/Under 1.5 hits
The Yankees’ most dependable bat, DJ LeMahieu, has a nice hot streak of his own. He has a hit in seven straight games, including three with two hits or more.
The contact machine has also had success against Matz. In 10 at-bats against the starter, LeMahieu has six hits, including two doubles.
Getting multiple-hit games is not an easy feat, especially in September, with bullpens managed tighter as the race for the postseason intensifies. But the numbers against Matz are on LeMahieu's side.
Pick: Over 1.5 hits (+175)
