Jimmie Johnson isn’t just the sentimental choice to win the Daytona 500, he’s the right one
Is it getting hot in here or is it just our takes? BetAmerica columnists Ashley Anderson, Jeremy Balan, Ryan Murphy and Thomas Tassone share their sizzling picks for this weekend’s sports action. Handle with caution!
No. 16 Colorado at Oregon State, Saturday, 10:00 p.m. (FS1)
Ashley: No. 16 Colorado is coming off a tough loss at No. 17 Oregon on Thursday and won’t get much rest before a trip to Oregon State on Saturday night. The Beavers are on a two-win streak, including a 10-point victory over the Ducks and a 70-51 drubbing of Utah. They also beat Colorado in Boulder, 76-68, back in early January. The Buffs should once again struggle against the Beavers on such a short turnaround and will lose their grasp of the top spot in the Pac-12 standings.

Davidson (+4) at St. Bonaventure, Friday, 7 p.m. ET (ESPN2)
Jeremy: The Bonnies are one of the hottest teams in the Atlantic 10, with five straight wins (and more importantly, for our purposes, they’re 5-0 against the spread), but Davidson has had their number for years. The Wildcats have won the last three meetings between the two teams by an average margin of 13 points, and have won six of their last seven meetings.

Team Giannis vs. Team LeBron, Sunday, 8:00 p.m. (TNT)
Ryan: The NBA All-Star Game tips off on Sunday night in Chicago, and while most fans will be watching King James and the Greek Freak, I’ll be watching the scoreboard. Oddsmakers have set the game total at 303, which seems ludicrously low given recent results. Team Giannis and Team LeBron combined for 342 points in 2019, and the average combined score of the past five All-Star Games has been 326. Yes, this year’s funky format will curtail scoring in the fourth quarter, but I’m still hitting the over with a vengeance.

Daytona 500, Sunday, 2:30 p.m. (Fox)
Thomas: One of the best drivers of this generation will begin his farewell tour this weekend at the Daytona 500. Although Jimmie Johnson (+2000) has struggled the past two years, I think 2020 will be a historic campaign for the NASCAR legend. On Sunday, look for the seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion to have a stellar performance at The Great American Race and to earn his 84th career victory!
