Lowry Leads, Johnson Looms in RBC Heritage
After a nearly four-hour rain delay, the PGA resumed the second round of the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links late Friday afternoon, but couldn’t get every round in. They’ll resume second-round play and begin the third round Saturday.
Shane Lowry is the leader at 9-under, with Dustin Johnson, Trey Mullinax and Emiliano Grillo looming.Lowry has two more holes to play in the second round before starting the third round. His birdie on the 15th Friday put him in the lead alone. Following Lowry is Trey Mullinax (8-under), who shot a 3-under 68 Friday, while Dustin Johnson and Emiliano Grillo are both at 7-under for the tournament. Lowry birdied the first, second, fifth and 15th holes, while his lone bogey came on the seventh.
Johnson, the RBC Heritage favorite, had trouble at the 14th hole Friday. A par 3, No. 14 at Harbour Town requires golfers to hit over a long stretch of water from tee to green. Johnson went over the green with his tee shot, put his chipped second within six feet, then missed his putt for par to record his only bogey of the round.
