Week 6 College Football Recap

The top-25 will have a handful of new teams in the polls this week, and a few others dropping out of the top 10 after LSU and Oklahoma suffered its first losses of the season. Week 6 College Football was another wild ride. Here's a look at some of the top ranked teams.
Alabama (6-0) remains elite over all teams after another high-scoring victory. The Crimson Tide is No. in the nation in total offense at 568 yards per game following a 65-31 win at Arkansas when the Tide rolled up a balanced 639 yards offense. That included 393 passing yards with Tua Tagovailoa passing for 334 yards 4 TDs and an amazing 25.7 yards per pass as he completed 10 of 13 pass attempts. The only thing Alabama didn’t do right for its backers was cover the 35-point spread.
Next up: Alabama (-28) vs Missouri
Behind ‘Bama is No. 2 Georgia (6-0), who Dawged Vanderbilt with 550 yards in a 41-13 win.
Next up: Georgia (-7) at LSU
No. 3 Clemson (6-0) absolutely dominated the Demon Deacons, whipping Wake Forest on the road 63-3.
Next up: Clemson Bye Oct. 13, host NC State Oct. 20
Ohio State’s remains at No. 4, but its defense has allowed at least 26 points four times this season. The Buckeye’s (6-0) rode the arm of Heisman hopeful QB Dwayne Haskins, who passed for 455 yards and 6 TD's in a 49-26 non-covering win over Indiana. Ohio State is now averaging 566 yards per game; 3rd best in the country.
Next up: Ohio State (-29.5) vs Minnesota
No. 5 LSU found the Gators too tough in the Swamp, as Florida knocked off LSU 27-16 with a late pick-6 sinking the Tigers. LSU drops out of the top 10 and returns home to host No. 2 Georgia as a home dog.
Next up: LSU vs. Georgia (-7)
No. 6 Notre Dame will move up into the top-5 following a big road win at Virginia Tech, 45-23 in a misleading final score. The years were near even at 440, but turnovers doomed the Hokies after a return TD before halftime left the Irish leading 17-16 at the break. If Notre Dame runs the table, they will play in the FBS playoffs.
Next up: Notre Dame (-21.5) vs Pittsburgh
No. 7 Oklahoma (5-1) falls out of the top 10 following a 48-45 loss to Texas (5-1) in the Red River Rivalry. The score was closer than the result on the football field after Texas led 45-24 midway through the fourth quarter. Texas won outright as a 7.5-point ‘dog and makes a big move from No. 19 to near the top-10.
Next up: Oklahoma bye Oct. 13 then at TCU Oct. 20. Texas (-16.5) hosts Baylor
West Virginia (5-0) will move up to No. 6 after a 38-22 non-covering win over Kansas. The Mountaineers feature a 500 yards per game offense.
Next up: West Virginia (-6) at Iowa State
Washington (5-1) moves up a few spots to No. 7 after a 31-27 non-covering road win at UCLA. Marquee match-up this week in a PAC-12 showdown at No. 17 Oregon.

Penn State (4-1) moves up to No. 8 despite being idle last week.
Next up: Penn State (-13.5) vs Michigan State
UCF (5-0) will move into the top-10 following a 48-20 win over SMU. Central Florida is 4-1 ATS covering big spreads and winning all five games by at least 20 points and lead the nation in offense averaging 576 yards per game. But from a power rating standpoint, the Knights are not even a top 20 teams. Toughest test of the season this week against Memphis.
Next up: UCF (-5) at Memphis
Michigan (5-1) moves into the top 10 with its 5th straight win, 42-21 at Maryland. Wolverines defense dominant again holding Maryland to 220 total yards. Michigan’s defense leads the nation holding opponents to 230 yards per game and 3.5 yards per play. Big Ten games of the week Oct. 13 vs. No. 13 Wisconsin
