Because of the unique circumstances surrounding the 2020 NCAAF season, history has already been made, since Week 1 kicked off on Sept. 3.
On Sunday, No. 19 Louisiana and No. 24 Appalachian State cracked the AP Top 25, marking the first time the Sun Belt saw two teams ranked in the same AP poll.
The Ragin’ Cajuns and Mountaineers may not have achieved that feat had the Big Ten and Pac-12 been eligible to receive votes.
The Big Ten originally cancelled fall football back in August, but on Wednesday the conference announced the sport would resume play the weekend of Oct. 24. The Pac-12 is weighing the option of a mid-November start.
The 2020 season will undoubtedly be remembered for a long time to come and likely see more records established — albeit, with an asterisk included.
