Illinois Fighting Illini -5.0 vs RUTGERS SCARLET KNIGHTS (Saturday 12:00 ET)
Rutgers a sinking ship and this an opportunity to play against at a very reasonable number. Scarlett Knights can’t score, failing to exceed 17 points in four consecutive games, and struggling in every area. Illinois (-5.0) is getting better in the third year under coach Lovie Smith. After nearly upsetting South Florida, Fighting Illini played Penn St. tight for three quarters before giving way late and they’ve had a week off to prepare. QB Rivers making good strides with a solid set of receivers and Illinois averaging nearly 250 yards a game rushing. Rutgers has 13 turnovers on the season and won’t be able to stay close with improving Illinois. Lay the points!

Oklahoma Sooners -7.5 vs Texas Longhorns (neutral site) (Saturday 12:00 ET)
Oklahoma halted a three-game ATS losing streak with lopsided win versus Baylor but still managed to give up 33 points. Sooner defense hasn’t stopped anybody and been leaky against suspect company, surrendering 21 points to incompetent UCLA squad before giving up 27 to Iowa St. and 21 to Army. Texas (+7.5) can score early and often on the underperforming unit. After a surprising opening-season loss to Maryland, Longhorns turned season around by completely throttling Southern California and TCU in dominant wins and their high-scoring attack is averaging nearly 30 points a game. Oklahoma will feel the loss of star RB Anderson versus stout Texas defense gaining momentum (Longhorns haven’t allowed more than 16 points in last three games) and Texas went through motions last week when beating an overmatched Kansas St. 19-14. They’ll be fired up for their biggest rival Saturday and linemakers aren’t giving up-and-coming squad the proper respect. Texas has dominated this series from a betting perspective (5-0 ATS in last five meetings) and still has a viable chance to win Big 12. Battle-tested Longhorns poised to give a familiar opponent all they can handle and don’t be surprised to see a SU upset. Hook ‘em horns!
Week 6 College Football Free Picks – Bet Texas +7.5 over Oklahoma!
Southern Methodist Mustangs +24 vs CENTRAL FLORIDA KNIGHTS (Saturday 12:20 ET)
Central Florida is undefeated since 2016 with 10 straight home wins and an outstanding QB in Milton. They’ve outscored teams by an average of 32 points a game this season and exit a pair of easy ATS wins versus FAU and Pittsburgh. But the heart of their season is fast-approaching, with a key road tilt at Memphis next week followed by another huge away test at East Carolina, and they have every right to be looking ahead. SMU (+24.0) knows their opponent, giving Central Florida one of their toughest games last year in a 24-17 setback, and Mustangs starting to make big strides under new coach Sonny Dykes. They easily covered when traveling to Michigan earlier this season and upset heavily favored Navy two weeks back. SMU received a nice tune-up when blowing out a FCS foe last week and freshman QB Brown showing excellent development under a QB guru coach. SMU better than pre-season predictions and Central Florida just wants to get out this game with a win; look for the Mustangs to cover the number!
Week 6 College Football Free Picks – Bet SMU +24 over Central Florida!
Boston College Eagles +4.0 vs NORTH CAROLINA ST. WOLFPACK (Saturday 12:30 ET)
Two teams going different directions as a banged-up Boston College meets a surging foe and don’t expect a close game. After allowing a pathetic Wake Forest offense to score 34 points on them in a narrow win, BC was pounded 30-13 by Purdue, who entered the game with a 0-3 SU record and moved the ball at will on a retreating defense. Eagles favored by two TDs last week against sagging Temple and continued to struggle in a slugfest that was tied 21-21 at halftime, squeaking by in the end but not before they surrendered nearly 200 yards rushing. And most importantly, RB Dillon (BC’s best player by a wide margin) left last week’s game with an ankle injury and hasn’t practiced all week. He’ll be a game-time decision but don’t expect him to be at full-strength. North Carolina St. (-4.0) has their offense rolling, putting 35 points on Virginia as they scored six times, and QB Finley wasn’t sharp last week as Wolfpack dominated on ground. Finley leads the ACC with 328 yards passing per game and has an arsenal of talented weapons at his disposal. And with a bye next week, NC State won’t get caught looking ahead to huge October 20 match-up versus Clemson. BC ranks 79th nationally in overall defense, allowing more than 400 yards per game, and are facing a beat down in Raleigh, North Carolina. N.C. State wins by more than touchdown!
