Washington State Cougars +4 vs USC TROJANS (Friday 10:30 ET)
USC replaced all their skill players and offense has struggled mightily as they can’t score. They’re banged up on the offensive line and defense has proven to be a major issue, yielding 209 rushing yards per game (109th). The defensive unit will be missing a couple of starters this week against a sneaky Washington St. (+4) team that has proven to be a surprise this season. With the most talented offensive line of his tenure, Mike Leach has Cougars offense firing on all cylinders and Washington St. played well on the road when routing Wyoming in season-opener. Washington St. is 5-0 ATS the week before Utah and USC returning off a short week after getting crushed in Texas. New Washington St. QB Minshew (East Carolina transfer) thriving with a deep group of WRs and Trojans should be on upset alert against high-scoring rival. Give us the points Friday night!

Mississippi State Bulldogs -9.5 vs KENTUCKY WILDCATS (Saturday 7:00 ET)
Mississippi St. yet to be tested opening the year 3-0 ATS with new coach Moorhead but laying too many points in tough road match-up. Bulldogs 2-5 ATS in last seven conference away games and facing improved Kentucky (+9.5) that brought back 17 starters and snapped 31-year losing streak winning at Florida two weeks ago. Wildcats much bigger and faster up front than previous seasons, with difference-makers on offense (RB Benny Snell) and defense (LB Josh Allen), and new QB Terry Wilson developing into a major weapon. Kentucky knows opposition well (teams play every year) and motivated after being smacked down 45-7 in Starkville last year. And Mississippi St. could get caught looking ahead to next weekend’s match-up against Florida and former coach Dan Mullen. Look for a close game that could go either way!

Stanford Cardinal -2 vs OREGON DUCKS (Saturday 8:30 ET)
High-scoring Oregon has their third coach in three years and has played terrible competition in the first three weeks, edging winless San Jose St. by 13 points last week as a 43-point favorite. Ducks have failed to cover their last four Pac-12 openers and are 2-4 ATS in last six meetings against Stanford (+2), one of the more experienced teams in nation with nine returning starters. Cardinal was a little sluggish last week without RB Love but they’ll get their star player back this week and have scored 30+ points in four of his last five games. Young Oregon squad isn’t good enough to keep Stanford in check and go up against a stingy defense that will force turnovers (two interceptions last week from Oregon QB Hebert). Duck will be better later in the season but Saturday should be all Stanford!
Week 4 College Football Free Picks – Bet Stanford -2 over Oregon!
Arizona State Sun Devils +17 vs WASHINGTON HUSKIES (Saturday 10:30 ET)
Kudos to Herm Edwards for orchestrating home upset of Michigan St. but Arizona St. doesn’t have the personnel to hang with Pac-10’s best team on road. And after losing as favorite at San Diego St., they’re poised to take a beat down in Seattle (Sun Devils 0-10 ATS as underdog in second of back-to-back road games). Washington (-17) has had this game circled for nearly 12 months. They lost as a double-digit road favorite at ASU last year, with their playoff aspirations taking a serious hit as they sustained the first loss in seven games, and Huskies are keenly aware that Arizona St. has had their number, winning 11 of last 12 games SU. This is statement time for proud Huskies program! Washington has one of the nation’s best defenses, shutting down Utah in an impressive road victory last week (held Utes to 261 yards). And while QB Browning and RB Gaskin have been slow to find their best stride this season, talented duo capable of break-out performances this week against suspect defense. Washington will score a lot of points in one-sided rout!
