Washington Huskies (-2.5) vs WASHINGTON STATE COUGARS (Friday 8:30 p.m. ET)
Mike “The Pirate” Leach an offensive genius in the college ranks and this may be his best work yet as Washington St. (-2.5) enjoying a special season atop the Pac 12. Cougars enter Apple Bowl 10-1 SU and with the nation’s #1 ranked pass offense, they’re playing at a higher level than Washington. But despite being the best team nationally for bettors with a sterling 10-1 ATS record, Washington St. continues to receive no respect from oddsmakers, who have essentially graded this game as a pick ‘em (3 points to the home team). That’s an advantage for us and get down early if possible! Leach, who has lost five straight in the series, will be seeking a pound of flesh against his bitter rival and has the offense to exact it, with QB Minshew (7 TDs last week) and a talented group of WRs firing on all cylinders. And I like the dynamic we’ve seen from RBs Williams and Borghi in recent weeks.
Washington has no chance to slow down this prolific attack (Washington St. averaging more than 40 points and 482 yards of offense) and won’t be able to trade points. Huskies defense has played far below expectations and it’s been a pedestrian season for QB Browning (only 16 TDs), who has limited weapons and a banged-up Myles Gaskin in the backfield. And nothing underlies this season’s disappointment more than their 2-9 ATS mark. Washington brought hopes of making playoff to 2018 but will finish 8-4 SU after taking a beating Saturday. Love the Coogs on Friday!

Michigan Wolverines (-4.5) vs OHIO STATE BUCKEYES (Saturday 12 p.m. ET)
Neither team played well last week and Urban Meyer has owned Michigan since being named head coach of Buckeyes, posting 6-0 SU record including the last three over Jim Harbaugh. But Michigan (-4.5) 2-1 ATS since Harbaugh’s arrival and Wolverines highly-motivated to reverse losing trend. Defense a strength as expected (#1 ranked in FBS) and Shea Patterson, while far from spectacular, has represented a massive upgrade at QB, completing 66% of passes with 18 TDs and only 4 interceptions. Wolverines more fundamentally sound on both sides in this match-up, averaging 38 points per game the last three weeks and allowing only 13.5 points per game this season.
Ohio St. always dangerous in underdog role, bringing an 8-0 ATS record when grabbing three points or more, but season hasn’t come close to expectations for squad ranked #2 earlier in season. Losing the nation’s top defensive player (Bosa) proved to be a major setback and Buckeyes defense can’t get off the field in recent weeks, surrendering 51 points to Maryland, 31 to Nebraska and 49 to Purdue. And the offense has certainly lacked consistency and will have trouble moving the ball this weekend. It’s been a tough year for Meyer, who was suspended for first three games, dealt with a cyst in his brain and appeared in pain on the sidelines last week, and it will be no surprise if this is his last season in Columbus due to health/stress concerns. Ohio St. a dreadful 1-6 ATS in last seven games and won’t stay with Michigan on Saturday, lay the points!
Week 13 College Football Free Picks – Bet Michigan -4.5 over Ohio St.!
Texas Tech (+6) vs BAYLOR BEARS (Saturday 12 p.m. ET)
Baylor (-6) struggles with good teams but does well in this type of match-up, posting a 4-1 ATS mark against foes with a losing record this year. And they’re getting too many points Saturday against an injury-riddled Texas Tech squad that is reeling (0-4 SU/1-3 ATS last four games). Baylor, which has shown nice improvement since an embarrassing early-season performance against Duke, enters in a season-best form, holding Oklahoma St. well below their season average in a good home win three weeks ago and playing the last two opponents tight. The offense, which is led by Charlie Brewer, has the weapons to score early and often; Bears just need to avoid costly turnovers to win this game straight up.
Texas Tech, which played five of their first seven games at home, has lost their identity of late, allowing a bad Kansas St. to completely throttle them in a 21-6 road loss last week. QB Alan Bowman isn’t healthy and the defense has really gone south, surrendering more than 150 points over the last four games. Impossible to have faith on either side of the ball with the Red Raiders, who shouldn’t be giving this many points on the road against any Big 12 opponent, and Baylor has everything to play for as they look to secure a bowl berth. Grab the points with the Bears!
Week 13 College Football Free Picks – Bet Baylor +6 over Texas Tech!
Tennessee Volunteers (+3) vs VANDERBILT COMMODORES (Saturday 4 p.m. ET)
Vanderbilt (-3) enters on 4-0 ATS run. They averaged 36 points per game the last three weeks and recently went toe-to-toe with the SEC’s third-best team (Missouri) before falling 33-28. Commodores receive competent QB play from Kyle Shurmur but RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn is the straw that stirs the drink in Nashville; Vandy became a different team when he emerged in mid-season and his absence against Florida (hurt in 1st half) and Kentucky cost them two very winnable games. That means Vandy must win Saturday for bowl eligibility (5-6 SU) and while I have no doubt they’ll prove victorious, let’s hope QB Jarrett Guarantano is back on the field for the Vols so the line doesn’t balloon in the coming days.
Tennessee has trouble scoring 20 points per game and the defense, which showed the tendency to string together bad performances earlier in the season, can’t be in a good spot after embarrassing home performance in which they gave up 50. Vandy 5-1 ATS in last six meetings and should enjoy an enormous time of possession advantage as they pound the Vols all afternoon; I’ll lay the points with confidence!
