NCAAF Thursday preview: NC State at Georgia Tech
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |

North Carolina State | +2.5 (-106) | +115 | O 47 (-110) |
Georgia Tech | -2.5 (-114) | -140 | U 47 (-110) |
It’s been a rough season for North Carolina State, and yet the Wolfpack still has a chance to become bowl eligible if the team can win its next two games.
Up on deck Thursday night is a matchup with fellow ACC squad Georgia Tech. The 2-8 Yellow Jackets earned their last win against Miami, 28-21 in overtime, in mid-October, but since then have dropped three straight, including a 45-0 pummeling by Virginia Tech in Week 12.
NC State has fared worse recently. The Wolfpack has lost by an average margin of 28.5 points over its last four games and owns just four victories—over East Carolina, Western Carolina, Ball State and Syracuse.
Both Georgia Tech and NC State have gone through changes at quarterback and now rely on redshirt freshmen. NC State QB Devin Leary has a 47.2 completion percentage and has recorded six touchdown passes to three interceptions on the season.

Georgia Tech’s James Graham is completing 47.5% of his passes, has been intercepted seven times and has eight passing touchdowns in 2019. He hasn’t been the steadiest hand on offense, but he can occasionally get the job done with his legs (166 yards on 75 carries).
The Yellow Jackets own the advantage in the ground game, thanks to sophomore Jordan Mason (721 yards, seven TDs) and will face N.C. State’s 38th-ranked rushing defense (140.8 yards per contest).
In the Wolfpack’s last game against Louisville, the defense held the Cardinals to just 77 rushing yards but surrendered 249 yards through the air and five passing touchdowns.

Georgia Tech’s defense is permitting 202 rushing yards per game, 217.1 yards through the air and 1.2 takeaways.
The underdog is 6-2-1 against the spread in the last nine meetings between these two teams, and the road team is also 5-0-1 ATS in the last six in this series, but the Wolfpack are 3-9-2 ATS in its last 14 games.
NC State has plenty riding on this game, but the Yellow Jackets will be just as motivated to grab a win. There’s no way Georgia Tech is going to pull off an upset of No. 4 Georgia on November 30, so Thursday’s home game is the Yellow Jackets’ last true shot at a victory in 2019.
Pick: Georgia Tech -2.5
