NCAAF: Georgia's loss could spell doom for Notre Dame
As we reach the nitty gritty of the college football season, every week is increasingly more important. The games matter a lot, but it’s also important to pay attention to the public's reactions to these games. It’s easy to overreact to just one moment, but we need to add that moment to the broad picture of the entire season and then adjust accordingly. Let’s examine four of those kinds of moments.
It’s the same old Georgia. It’s like clockwork. This all but destroys Georgia’s chances at the College Football Playoff and could spell doom for Notre Dame, a team the Bulldogs defeated between the hedges in Week 4.
This was a nice reset for Clemson. Coach Dabo Swinney has the early negatives to use for motivation, and I fully expect Clemson to go undefeated in the regular season and reach the ACC Championship Game.
That is the scoring margin this year for Wisconsin against Michigan and Michigan State combined! The Badgers dominated Michigan and absolutely embarrassed Michigan State last weekend, 38-0.
Wisconsin has have rolled, and its defense is firing on all cylinders. Opponents have only scored 29 points in six games this season and the Badgers have four shutouts.
Ohio State and Penn State have drawn much of the attention in the Big Ten, but don't overlook the squad in red and white. At this point Wisconsin cannot be ignored and running back Jonathan Taylor’s 14 rushing touchdowns have him in the Heisman Trophy race.
I will go out on a limb and predict Wisconsin will win the Big Ten Championship over Ohio State.
Time will tell the story here, as they have to travel to Mississippi State this week and then run the gauntlet, with Auburn at home and Alabama on the road.
LSU will lose two of those next three games.
Same old Georgia
Georgia has a history of home losses to opponents it should handle with ease, and lighting struck again last week, when South Carolina came in and shocked the nation with a 20-17 overtime victory. It’s the same old Georgia. It’s like clockwork. This all but destroys Georgia’s chances at the College Football Playoff and could spell doom for Notre Dame, a team the Bulldogs defeated between the hedges in Week 4.
Clemson busts out
After the Tigers narrowly escaped a crushing defeat against North Carolina, Clemson blew Florida State out, 45-14. The Tigers were beginning to garner critics, but quarterback Trevor Lawrence regained that No. 1 draft pick form, with three touchdowns through the air and another on the ground. This was a nice reset for Clemson. Coach Dabo Swinney has the early negatives to use for motivation, and I fully expect Clemson to go undefeated in the regular season and reach the ACC Championship Game.
Wisconsin a major contender
73-14.That is the scoring margin this year for Wisconsin against Michigan and Michigan State combined! The Badgers dominated Michigan and absolutely embarrassed Michigan State last weekend, 38-0.

LSU jumps to No. 2, but be careful
LSU jumped to No. 2 in the Associated Press poll this week, after at 42-28 defeat of last week's No. 7 team, Florida (now No. 9). I am not sold on LSU. The Tigers just beat a Florida team with a backup quarterback and their other big win was against Texas.Time will tell the story here, as they have to travel to Mississippi State this week and then run the gauntlet, with Auburn at home and Alabama on the road.
LSU will lose two of those next three games.
