NCAA Week 11 upset watch: Michigan will bounce back against Wisconsin
With 14 college football games (so far) being postponed or cancelled due to COVID-19, the pickings are slim for upsets this week. However, that doesn't mean they're non-existent. We're here to help you find some opportunities to make bank on your moneyline bet.
Let’s dive into the NCAAF Week 11 upset watch!
Army vs. Tulane
The Green Wave come into this contest on the back of a two-game win streak, having beaten ECU and Temple by a combined score of 76-24. The Green Wave ranks 18th in the nation with 231 rushing yards per game, including a total of 562 yards in the two aforementioned games. Their defense has been shaky at times, but they have done well against the run, holding teams to under 130 yards per game on the ground.

However, they have yet to face a rushing attack the likes of what Army will unleash on them Saturday. The Black Knights are the worst passing offense in the nation, but you can get away with that when you rush for more than 300 yards per game and 5.3 yards per attempt. While Army doesn’t go to the air often, they’ve done decently when they have, and Tulane’s pass defense is quite bad. Look for the Black Knights to control the game and take home the upset win.
UTEP vs. UT San Antonio
Both of these teams come into this contest with a .500 record on the season, but they have won just three of their last 10 combined games. The University of Texas at San Antonio has just one victory since starting 3-0 on the season, with defeats to Army and BYU in that span. They have already played eight games this season, one of the few teams to have reached that mark, but had their ninth postponed last week when Rice had to cancel due to COVID-19 issues. QB Frank Harris has struggled when healthy, and had a really bad game two weeks ago when they scored just three points against Florida Atlantic.

Meanwhile, UTEP is looking to win its first game in Conference USA this season, having failed in its first two attempts. The Miners looked like they might get it against Charlotte in their last game three weeks ago, but a poor second half sunk them behind three turnovers. Now, with two weeks off to rest up and regroup, their solid defense will hope to perform well against an offense averaging less than 24 points per game. If UTEP can take care of the football, they should be able to pull off the upset.
Colorado vs. Stanford
Stanford lost their opening game against Oregon 35-14, but did so with their starting quarterback out with a false-positive COVID-19 test. The Pac-12 apologized for the error this week, but it does little to make up for the missed time on the field for Davis Mills. Now, he will look to shake off the rust against Colorado and try to get an opening win. They also will hope their kicker has gotten rid of his yips, as he missed four field goals against the Ducks.

Meanwhile, Colorado has a win under their belt after defeating UCLA 48-42 last week, and their offense looks like a well-oiled machine. They rushed for 264 yards and threw for 261, scoring 35 points in the first half and then held on against a strong second-half rally by the Bruins.
Stanford’s defense was unable to slow Oregon down in the least last week, and it will likely cost them against the Buffaloes. Look for Colorado to hand another loss to a Stanford program that has yet to taste victory since October 26th of last year.
#13 Wisconsin vs. Michigan
Wisconsin is still dealing with some COVID-19 issues, but they also have quarterback problems with Jack Coan out and both Graham Mertz and Chase Wolf questionable for this weekend. Mertz looked great against Illinois in their season opener, but most quarterbacks would do well against that bad defense. Now, they look to finally get onto the field for a second time. How will they look without having had playing time or normal practices over the past few weeks?

Meanwhile, Michigan will be looking to recover their season after losing their last two games to Michigan State and Indiana. It’s hard for their defense to play any worse than they have, but they weren’t helped by their offense rushing for just 13 yards. Those are the two things that Jim Harbaugh’s teams have been built on, and you know he will be demanding more of them this week. If Wisconsin is rusty, or not at full strength due, it could be the perfect recipe for the Wolverines to get an important win.
