It's time to start taking Penn State seriously
Don’t look now, but the Big Ten is making some noise. While other teams like Notre Dame and Auburn were eliminated this past weekend, the Big Ten has four teams that could make the College Football Playoffs. Let's take a look at some of the other lessons we learned during Week 9.
The Wolverines have turned the corner
Two weeks ago Michigan trailed Penn State 21-0 in the second quarter. They rallied in the second half and narrowly won the game in Happy Valley. There were some who thought Michigan found something or found themselves midway through that game. Most agreed that the ultimate test of would occur this past weekend when Notre Dame Dame to town.Michigan gets back on track with a 45-14 win over No. 8 Notre Dame. @SheaPatterson_1 said it was a little revenge for last year’s game. pic.twitter.com/66MYhyDLhk

Michigan proved those theories correct as they dominated Notre Dame from start to finish, 45-14.
A few weeks ago it was thought that Ohio State would have no trouble beating Michigan in their yearly game; now Michigan looks like an entirely new team and could play spoiler come November 30 at home vs. Ohio State
The Penn State defense silenced the Spartans offense and forced four turnovers. This provided just enough leeway for Penn State QB Sean Clifford to fire four touchdown passes.
Penn State is off this week but they travel to Minnesota on November 9 to face the undefeated Gophers.

Can anyone slow down Penn State?
Undefeated #6 Penn State went into Michigan state and waxed the Spartans 28-7. This completed a two week sweep of the two Power 5 Michigan football teams, as the Nittany Lions beat Michigan two weeks ago.The Penn State defense silenced the Spartans offense and forced four turnovers. The Gophers are going for it
Minnesota Gophers coach P.J. Fleck stood emphatically at the podium following a 52-10 victory against Maryland on Saturday. “ESPN should bring their set to Minnesota on November 9”, Fleck proclaimed.Just left my first PJ Fleck press conference and I have no idea what I heard but I’ll be sprinting home shirtless and yelling tonight

While many would agree, when Penn State comes to town for a battle of the unbeaten, a lot will be on the line; this game will probably be the biggest game for the Gopher program in memory. And while ESPN will most likely be covering the LSU at Alabama game on the same day, this showdown will be one to watch!
Wisconsin's title dreams have been crushed
Fresh off of the biggest upset of the year when they lost to Illinois, Wisconsin headed to Ohio State to try and prove that they still belonged. Instead they only managed 193 yards of total offense as Ohio State suffocated Jonathan Taylor. The Heisman hopeful only managed 50 yards on 20 carries.Needless to say, with Wisconsin’s Offense on ice, Ohio States running back J.K. Dobbins ran wild, amassing 163 yards on the ground and two touchdowns.
With the loss Wisconsin’s dreams are officially crushed, and Ohio State keeps on rolling. We look forward to their game at Michigan in late November.
Kansas State boomers the Sooners
497 yards of total offense by the Oklahoma Sooners was not enough, as Kansas State upset the Sooners 48-41 and destroyed Oklahoma’s chances of making the College Football Playoff.Final score from Manhattan: Kansas State 48, Oklahoma 41. pic.twitter.com/IVLLUCplWo

Sooner QB Jalen Hurts dazzled as he passed for 395 yards and rushed for 96, and Coach Lincoln Riley proved again why he is a an offensive guru, but it was the defense that let them down. Oklahoma was gashed on the ground for 213 yards and couldn’t get Kansas State off the field in crucial situations.
Oklahoma will have to battle to win the Big 12, but a New Year’s Day game is in serious jeopardy.
