ACC Week 13 picks: Pitt vs. Clemson & 3 more
After a contentious week in the ACC, which featured some poor sportsmanship by Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney, the Tigers are scheduled to resume, with the hope to gain enough momentum for a trip to the College Football Playoff.
Let's take a look at the best betting opportunities in the ACC this week.
Pittsburgh vs. #4 Clemson
It feels inevitable that Clemson will run its record to 8-1, but the Tigers are just 2-6 against the spread, while Pittsburgh is 5-4 and 3-5-1 ATS.
The last time we saw Clemson, it was in a road loss at Notre Dame, and the last time we saw starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence was Oct. 24 against Syracuse.
Clemson is much more talented at every spot on the roster, but will there be rust for Lawrence in his return to live game action for the first time in more than a month? That factor will be key to decide whether Clemson covers the large spread, but Pittsburgh will also take an aggressive approach on offense to try and keep things close.
Dangerous but wild out of structure play by Pitt QB Kenny Pickett. One of his best traits is extending plays and working outside the pocket. Pickett should be a Day 3 pick with upside.

Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett aired it out 52 times in a decisive victory against Virginia Tech next week and appears to be back in rhythm after his return from injury.
Clemson is an overvalued team against the spread in 2020, and it won’t be surprising if Lawrence has a few poorly timed throws in his return.
Pick: Pitt +24
Virginia vs. Florida State
Nine of the last 10 times these two teams have faced off, the game has gone Under.
Florida State continues to have offensive woes, mostly because of the presence of multiple freshman on its offensive line, but after a week of drama, the team has yet another opportunity to come together and compete with passion.
In low-scoring games, points have more value, so I’ll side with the underdog.
Pick: Florida State +10
#25 North Carolina vs. #2 Notre Dame
With Notre Dame starting center Jarrett Peterson out, as well as guard Tommy Kraemer, North Carolina might actually have a chance to play respectably on defense.
With gunslinging quarterback Sam Howell leading the UNC offense, however, no opposing lead is safe and the backdoor will always be open.
This Sam Howell pass has to be a glitch 😱😱

These teams that haven’t played in several weeks, because of COVID-19 related issues. They were bad to begin with, and with extra rust, the play will likely be sloppy.
I’ll side with the home team that has won seven straight Saturday-night ACC home games.
Pick: Georgia Tech +1
